Rest in Peace, Alwyn
âSummerbrook Moon Shadowâ
When searching the origin of the name Alwyn, we find among the meanings, âwise friendâ and âloved by all.â We also find its welsh root meaning âAlways, which is meant to be a statement of the generousness of those named Alwyn.â Our sweet Alwyn sure lived up to his name!
On December 28, 2023, we said goodbye to our generous and wise friend as he galloped freely over the rainbow bridge. He will forever be loved by all he met.
Alwyn holds a special place in our hearts, as well as the hearts of so many students he blessed in his life. He was the pony without the pony-tude. The one kids argued over who got to ride. In addition to loving to play soccer any time a ball was in the arena, he loved jumping. If he was turned out with jumps, weâd catch him playing around and jumping on his own. Sometimes he even decided to set his own course by jumping in and out of his pasture! Many kids caught the jumping passion from this sweet boy!
Alwyn was a true unicorn. He could do any event, and do it well. While he excelled in jumping, he also proved to be an amazing dressage, western, showmanship, gaming, and even a few times polo pony! In his time with our family, in addition to giving countless kids the best pony experience possible, he gave Brooke the foundation of her jumping career and took Emily and her OHSET team to state in IHOR. He put his whole heart into whatever we threw his way. His only request was lots of attention and treats from his beloved kids and staying close to his best buddy, Cookie.
Alwyn, thank you for all you did in your time on earth. Your legacy will live on in the kids you loved. Rest in peace sweet boy!!
