Mid may I took on this horse named Curlin. This poor horse and owner went through a struggle with getting his hooves squared away. As you can see from the before X-rays Crulin did founder and his toe was left way to long. With this horse I applied a heart bar shoe along with trimming to his natural confirmation. Last week Sunday the 7/18/21 was his 3rd shoeing. After this shoeing the owner had the vet out to do some blood work and too take a new set of X-rays and as you can see the after photos are night and day. The measurements of sole growth we got since mid may we are very pleased with and listed as fallowed.
Left 9.6 mm of sole growth, right 9.1 moof sole growth.
I’m very happy to also state that the owner can finally bring her horse back into work after having him off of work for 2 years due to the number off issues he’s had along with his hoof issues.

Well I got called out on a horse with some lameness issues the horse supposedly had an abscess. So I took some thermal images today I found that the horse didn’t have an abscess but had a small piece of wood kind of like a twig lodged into the frog no damage to the frog just slight discomfort. Along with that she had low heels a longer toe and as you can see in the images of the legs you can see more heat and stress in the joints and where the tendons attach to the joints so I threw some front shoes on this horse to get her a little more upright along with backing up the toe and I will be following up with this horse in two weeks to see how she’s doing.

Worked on this boy today. As you can see based off his leg confirmation he’s got one leg that’s crooked. Know what I did for this horse was very simple you can see in the other picture I made a lateral extension into the shoe to provide support. As well as trimming his foot to his legs confirmation no the source can be very comfortable if shod correctly.

Today I worked on this poor foundered Mule in Delaware today she’s got a great home but unfortunately she came to the owner with this issue. As of right now she nice the Mare is not very willing to want to have her hooves done the owner got sedation so we could work on her and atleast take care of her barefoot. The owner will be purchasing a pair of stocks so we can get some shoes on her so she’s more comfortable. But so far she’s doing well.

Today was such a incredible experience working along side Dr Riddle! Jack has been in my care for 1 year and 5 months and before me the owner was struggling with other farriers keeping the angles on point. Dr Riddles specific instructions has been from day one have Jack with a 54 degree angle with a square toe and needing to be done every 4 weeks.
The last 2 months I’ve found some on and off lameness with Jack. Jacks owner and myself took a trip down to Dr Riddles practice to see what’s going on with Jack. We found he has some very slight navicular changes witch we caught early enough that we can keep Jack from going navicular.

This experience was amazing and Dr Riddle is so full of knowledge we will be bring Jack back for a fallow up visit in 3 weeks before his shoeing and see if we need to make any further changes.

This beautiful 4 year old Lippizan stud got his first pair of front shoes! I’ve shod a lot of young horses and this boy has been my favorite so far. His owner has done a beautiful job working with him he stood his shoes like he’s had them all his life. I can’t wait to see him again!
