We are set up at tractor supply in galax this morning with 3 dogs ( Yappie, Levi, Cash) from shelter come meet one today we will be here til noon. We will be opening at the shelter for normal hours at 1-4pm today as well.

Courtesy Post: This male cat has been hanging out on Powerhouse Rd in Independence for a few months. He’s friendly but doesn’t get along with some of the resident cats so he needs to find a new home. Finder cannot keep it so if owner cannot be located, it will need a new home. If interested, please reach out to the number above as it is not in our custody. Believed to be a female and about 5-6 months old. Please share.

Please be on the lookout for Ivan. He’s been missing since January 4th from Blackstone Ln. He’s 6 or 7 years old.
He was wearing two collars, a redish collar and a gray flea collar. Very friendly and is missed by his family. Call 304-888-8683 if you have seen him or have any information about him. Please share.

Thank you Stephen Rickstrew for getting these pups safely to their foster today💗❤️🐾 and thank you North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue for giving them a chance at a fantastic wonderful life😊 and, as always, thanks Waggin Train staff and Jennifer Roberts for taking such great care of them before their journey today! We love happy endings.

Still Missing: Goya escaped from the rabies clinic at the Independence Courthouse in November. Surely someone has seen her. She may be on her own or someone may have picked her up thinking she was a stray. Shes missed terribly. If you have any news of her, please comment or let us know. Please share.

Missing Cat - 🐈‍⬛ at the Lambsburg Welcome Center since Dec. 20, 2024. Recently had surgery and has a shaven place with a healed wound.

We're starting the new year out right with a New Year's Day transport this morning😻 Our dedicated volunteers and rescue partners never take a break and today is no exception! Thanks to them, these 2 dogs and 9 kitties will all have chances at wonderful new lives🐶❤😺

Thank you to our amazing partners at Tazewell County Animal Shelter and Betty Wilson for helping us get everyone where they need to go every single week!❤❤❤ And thanks to rescue partners SFC Virginia and Homeward Trails Animal Rescue (whose staff and volunteers are also hard at work today) for giving these precious pups and kitties a second chance at a good life, to Jennifer Roberts and the JR Pet Services Waggin' Train Galax crew for keeping them safe until their ride is ready, and Gay Huntsman, Becky Moeller Bloomfield, and Donna Vanden Raadt for driving, fostering, and loving these babies while they are with us!
