It has come to our attention that there are stories, posts, and comments pertaining to our commitment to care, health, and well-being to your beloved pets while in our care. We say stories because they are making false allegations about a situation, they know little to nothing about. We have lived and served this community for over 20 years and have ALWAYS placed an animal’s well-being above all other. Out of respect to the family involved we have tried to avoid comment, but after so much negativity and false statements it is within our right to defend ourselves, and the pride we have with being entrusted with your pets while you are away.
Involving this situation, an older dog with existing medical issues was boarding with us and we had her placed on our priority watch list. We were in CONSTANT contact with the owner about concerns we had during her short stay with us. While with us, we had concerns of her legs unintentionally coming in contact with the floors due to her pre-existing mobility and arthritis issues causing sores. We placed multiple blankets and beds in her run to pad her feet and our staff personally walked her outside to limit conditions to the weather. At NO TIME was she left unattended or exposed to the weather while in our care. We documented her care daily and spoke to the owner numerous times during her stay. She was bathed and hand blown dried due to incontinence issues from pre-existing conditions multiple times. After further discussions with the owner, we decided it would be in her best interest to NOT be in a boarding situation at that time. A family member came and took her into their care. She was released 4 days prior to her initial pick-up date due to our concerns and discussions with the owner. She was freshly bathed, dry and walked out on her own with the family member.
The loss of a pet is never easy and our condolences go out to her family and all that knew her. We have never stopped communicating with her owners. We know at this time people have placed their opinions on other peoples conclusions of a subject they have few facts on. The owner was completely unaware of the posts and comments circling social media regarding her personal pet until we brought it to her attention. The Owner did not make that initial post, but a friend of a family member did without getting the complete truth about the situation or pre-existing health concerns. We know that everyone has a right to their opinions but also feel Truth should be spoken vs false statements and allegation’s. We hope this puts clarity to unanswered thoughts or questions and brings forth our true commitment to the safety and well-being of your beloved pets while in our care. We do our best to stay in contact with owners if concerns arise and seek medical assistance when necessary.
We hope this clears up any misunderstanding that has been put out on social media. Please know we strive and take pride in the care, health, and well-being we place on each and every pet that is entrusted in our care.
