We’ve received many inquiries about the CDC change regarding travel with your dog to Canada and returning from Canada with your dog. This is the latest bit of information. All of the answers are not clear at this point, nor are the forms in place. What is clear is an up to date rabies vaccine will be required AFTER or on the day a microchip is implanted. A microchip is a must, along with the Rabies vaccine. This is standard practice for importing to most countries. Additionally, you will be required to have a health certificate processed through the USDA. This can take 5-7 days. The USDA document will be required for re entry into the US. No dog under 6 months of age will be allowed entry. Hopefully USDA will be able to streamline this process.
