🦃 It’s time to make new traditions. Compassionate and sustainable ones. That don’t harm nature’s cuddlebugs or destroy the planet. We can do it. 💪
🦆 We have 8 new ducks!
Meet Hank, a big Pekin boy who came to us with 7 friends from another sanctuary that is tragically having to close its doors and rehome over 100 animals. Sweet Farm has taken in almost 25 animals from other sanctuaries this year thanks to your support. ❤️
Hank is a Pekin duck, which are the breed that people generally eat. They are friendly, funny, and sadly flightless, due to the fact that they have been bred to be so large. Hank also gives kisses if you ask! Watch this space for proof!!! 😘😘😘
📢 Did you hear?? We have 26 new birds at Sweet Farm! (Read on to find out how you can name one…)
😎 Most are rare and endangered breeds that we imagine most of you have never even seen! Biodiversity is essential to the health of humans, animals, plants, soil, and the planet. If you have a group of animals with similar genetics, they are more vulnerable to being wiped out by a single disease (or predator!). To help safeguard our flock, we took in 26 new birds, all of whom underwent rigorous health checks to further ensure the health of our flock.
🎁 Looking for an awesome holiday gift that doesn’t end up getting returned?? For a donation of $75, you can name one of our beautiful new hen friends, and we will send you a personalized pdf certificate with your hen and her name to gift to your loved one! 💌
Your donation will help us get these girls set up for long and healthy lives with the rest of our main flock! 🐓❤️ You can donate here and message us the name you’d like, or head to sweetfarm.org!

🎃 Happy Halloween from the Sweet Farm cow friends!! Don’t forget to save all of your uncarved and unpainted pumpkins to bring to your local animal sanctuary!
Or just bring them directly to Gizmo.

🐷 Libby and her boys get to live out their lives in safety, comfort, and sunshine thanks to your support. They have come so far in the year they have been at Sweet Farm! When they arrived after having been rescued from a terrible hoarding case, they were terrified and covered in mange. Fast-forward 16 months and they are happy, healthy, and their personalities have all fully come out.
Libby is clever and confident, Scooter is happy-go-lucky and affectionate, and Rooter is shy, but sweet and brave. They’re individuals. Like all pigs. And like you ❤️
🐖 Elliot decided to nap in the pasture all day (taking a break from napping in the barn all day), knowing full well that his caregivers will come find him and serve him his lunch 😆
Everyone deserves meals in bed! 😊💕
🐽 Sam, a precious and affectionate Yucatán pig, loves to come and clean up everyone’s bowls after lunch. He’s the first to arrive for lunch and the last to leave. We feel that.
🦙Dolly is pretty sure that we all report to her.
💪We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: our team is unparalleled.
Come to our volunteer weekend this upcoming weekend and help our team get some big jobs done in our garden. They deserve a hand 💪👏🙏❤️
BONUS: you get a free tour to meet our rescued animals afterwards! 🐖🐐
💄Roosters are not only gorgeous and diverse, but also brave, altruistic, loving, friendly, and smart. Are you surprised to see so many roosters living together? We have 13 roos living happily together as one flock! Why so many??…Because people think multiple roosters can’t live together, or that when they buy “sexed” chicks that they will actually end up with all hands, or their town doesn’t allow roosters, or or or… And the result is a massive crisis of roosters being abandoned or killed.
🐓 So what can you do?? If you can’t have roosters where you live, adopt hens instead of buying chicks! If you buy chicks you will end up with at least one rooster!! Or think about starting a rooster flock! Roosters can live happily together if there are no hens over whom they would compete. Roos will take partners amongst themselves, and have full, long, and happy lives. Which is a LOT better than the alternative!
