🌿 Rescue Update & Thank You! 🐹💛

We woke up to a surprise donation this morning, and we just want to say thank you, it was completely unexpected and truly appreciated. Your kindness keeps our rescue going. 💚

Right now we’re doing great on pellets, but with several girls on maternity watch, we are flying through hay and could definitely use more. We also go through a ton of vitamin C treats, so those are always helpful too. Both are listed on our Amazon wishlist for anyone who ever feels like sending a little something.

🍁 Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at the rescue! 🧡🥬

Today we’re feeling extra grateful for you, our amazing community.
Your support, donations, shares, kind words, and love for these little potato-shaped friends are what keep us going. Because of you, so many guinea pigs found safe, happy, forever homes this year, and our hearts are full knowing how loved they are.

Even with the heavy lake-effect snow rolling in, we’re still here, still cleaning cages, chopping veggies, doing and giving all the piggy snuggles. The weather may slow us down a bit, but it will never stop us!

Thank you for being part of our rescue family, for trusting us and for helping us save lives one tiny wheek at a time. We are endlessly grateful for each and every one of you.

💛 Sunday Snippets from Mary – Snippet #1: Daily Care 💛

Each Sunday, we’re sharing a tiny piece of wisdom from Mary’s Guinea Pig Care Guide, created for her Girl Scout Silver Award.
Mary is the daughter of one of our longtime fosters, and she poured so much love and knowledge into this project, we’re so excited to share her words with you. 🐹✨

Daily Care

Guinea pigs need care multiple times a day, and there are lots of things you need to do to properly take care of your piggies.

• Feeding

Guinea pigs need to be fed multiple times a day, with unlimited hay and water, along with pellets and vegetables.
And don’t worry about forgetting they’ll definitely remind you every time you walk into the room!

• Cleaning

Your guinea pigs need to be cleaned out often, and how often depends on how many piggies you have:
• Two guinea pigs: Every 3–4 days
• Three to four guinea pigs: Every 2–3 days
• Five or more guinea pigs: Daily

These are the maximum number of days you can go without cleaning their cage.

These gorgeous girls are ready to shine in their new forever homes! 🌟🐹

💜 Monica & Phoebe
A bonded pair of purebred silkies with the MOST luxurious hair. These ladies are total showstoppers but please know:
✨ Silkies require regular grooming!
✨ Routine brushing, trims, and keeping their bottoms tidy.
✨ Long-haired breeds are AMAZING but definitely higher-maintenance.

🧡 Pearl & Petunia
Another adorable bonded pair who love each other dearly. These two are a great match for a loving family ready to spoil them.
✨ Their coats are shorter and easier to manage than silkies but still need the basics like nail trims and routine handling.

🌈 We will NOT break bonds.

We have a small amount of room available for female guinea pigs in the Cleveland area. Space is filling quickly, so if you need to surrender a girl, please message us as soon as possible.

As always, all surrenders must follow our rescue guidelines and be scheduled by appointment.

💔 A Personal Note From Me Tonight 💔

I don’t really know how to put this into words, but tonight I said goodbye to my horse… the one I’ve loved since I was 16 years old. He’s been with me through so many chapters of my life, and losing him has broken my heart.

I also tested positive for Covid this evening, so I’m not feeling well physically or emotionally.

If my responses are slower than usual over the next few days, please be patient with me. I’m still here, and I care deeply about our rescue and all of you, I just need a little time to grieve and to feel better.

Yes… this is real. This dynamic duo is officially 2-for-1!

Normally a bonded pair is a minimum $50 donation, but because we are completely overrun with males, we’re offering them for a minimum $25 donation to the right home.

These two sweet boys came in together and have stayed side-by-side from day one. They’re friendly, adorable, and ready to settle into a loving forever home.

They must stay together, but that just means double the charm for one small donation.

Our Senior Special is live! 🎉
Meet our distinguished duo, Zachary (left) and Bruce (right) two lovable old men with plenty of sass, charm, and snack demands.

💰 Adoption Fee: $35 each (normally $50!)
👴 Preferred home: someone who appreciates naps, routine, and a good veggie platter.

They’re still full of personality, just a little slower and wiser. 😉 These two deserve a cozy retirement home where they can enjoy their golden years with love, hay, and snacks galore.
