Just a boy recovering slowly and bathing himself! ♥️
Although I haven't been able to visit FCN for the past couple of days because of my surgery, I’m still staying updated on Soot! The team has been wonderful in caring for him, and his fighting spirit is incredible. He’s been bathing frequently, eating and drinking well, and being such a good boy! I’m looking forward to seeing him tomorrow for a weigh-in. Please continue to send your prayers and positive energy his way. ❤️ Thankful for our Ring cameras!
It's a miracle ❤️ He's been with us now since the 16th and not eaten other than what we've forced fed him. All life sustaining measures got us here today, the day I was sure I will as going to have to help him cross. 💔
This cat is going to be the death of me yet……is anyone skilled in pancreatitis issues, tube feeding, force feeding, & SQ fluids? I am out as of Monday for my hand procedure and unable to care for him properly.
We have the largest selection of wet foods next to a pet store. Lol Appreciate the suggestions but he's receiving all necessary meds, under veterinary care, and we have opened and wasted dozens and dozens of wet food, bags of dry kibble, etc.
Oh, Soot 🤦🏻♀️ After conducting X-rays and additional consultations, we are starting to suspect pancreatitis along with a gassy colon. We've sent off more lab tests today, including one specifically for pancreatitis. I've exhausted every treatment option I know for this boy and have been in close contact with our veterinarians.
The challenge is that I need to get these two boys stabilized by Sunday afternoon. I have a procedure lined up for Monday that will take me away from FCN for a few days, and I’ll be unable to use my left hand for several weeks afterward. As the sole medical caregiver for over 80 cats, I would greatly appreciate your prayers for a swift recovery and some for Soot & Pigeon too. Since the boys need further medical testing and have long roads ahead I've thrown up the donate button to help. They are willing to fight we have to fight for them.
**** If you have veterinary medical experience and are seeking a part-time position (2-3 days a week to start), please get in touch! I am looking to hire someone with at least one year of veterinary experience who can draw blood, operate IDEXX equipment, medicate, etc. Interested candidates can send their resumes to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]).
We will not openly discuss hours or pay without a submitted resume.
Soot hasn't started eating yet, but he's showing signs of improvement and is looking for affection. I'm doing everything I can with the medications and techniques I know to help him recover quickly. It's a challenge to get FIV-positive cats back on their feet when their immune systems are weakened. Positive vibes for Soot this evening, and the upcoming days.
One of our recent rescues- 🥰 Looking for a breed-specific rescue to help with this one, reach out if you can assist.
I’ve decided to call him Soot, and he could really use some positive energy and prayers to help him recover from this tough upper respiratory infection. I ran some tests today and discovered that he is FIV positive, which means his immune system has to work even harder to overcome this illness. Soot has been a familiar face in a local neighborhood, always darting away from people until yesterday when he asked for help. Today he demonstrated just how grateful he is for love and kindness. After meeting him, I knew I couldn’t let him return to the outside; he wouldn’t have made it through the upcoming cold weather. Thank you to those who donated, it will help his recovery.
****Morning update on intakes from 1/16/25****
Need to build our medical fosters immediately
These two intakes mean I’ll be here every day until we have experienced fosters approved or until they’re healthy enough for my staff to manage. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a medical foster please reach out! I could also use some veterinary technicians to volunteer weekly at our center.
