From living on the streets to brewery outings and sunset boat rides: adoptable galgo Hermes is certainly relishing the sweet life! This is what fostering can do for a dog. 💕
Hermes started off in one wonderful foster home, where he was able to begin decompressing and adjusting to his new life. While he made great strides there, he was still barking at Foster Dad consistently whenever he saw or heard him. (Many galgos are wary of men at first, until they learn they are not in danger anymore.)
Consequently, Hermes recently transferred to another foster family and is continuing to learn he can trust those around him no matter their gender. We are so thankful to our fosters and volunteers who have opened their hearts and homes to him, both short- and long-term! 💕
This is a GREAT example of how fostering helps us to learn more about each dog and what they need. While still unsettled around men, Hermes is a sweet boy with a gentle personality. He walks well on a leash, and is very loving. He did recently learn to escape his crate when home alone. (Fun Fact: Did you know zip-ties or carabiners work great to keep crates closed? They are an easy go-to if a hound learns to operate their crate door latches!)
Hermes is available for adoption and ready to settle in at his forever home! 🐾 Foster Mom said he is playful and “full of love”, and did well when accompanying her to a meet & greet. His personality shows more each day, and she was confident he will make a great addition to his new family, whoever they may be!
