Sometimes it gets super busy in pharmacy and even our pharmacy technician needs a little help. Just so happened we found a volunteer to help make sure the counts were adding up.

Holy smokes! Happy 30th workiversary to Kelly. She has been a staple part of the clinic in some many different roles and has seen the clinic grow and change over those years. Thank you for all the hard work and dedication! And here's to 30 more!

This week ends the careers of 2 very long tenured employees with Hobart Animal Clinic. To say that these ladies will be missed is an understatement for sure. They have been a fixture of the clinic for so long that their absence is certainly going to leave a big set of shoes to fill. We can not thank them enough for all the amazing things they have done for the staff, clients, and doctors over all these years. We know they are going to enjoy their retirement and wish them nothing but the best .

Last week saw the clinic celebrate National Veterinary Assistant Week. We couldn't function and do the things we do without all our amazing assistants. They are an integral piece of providing care for all our clients and patients. Thank you to all our Assistants!

Thank you to our friends at Coyne Veterinary Center in Crown Point for lunch today, and thank you to Dr. Matthew Szalay for coming to personally deliver the pizza to us at Hobart Animal Clinic on his day off. He was unable to find a pizza place to deliver due to the weather conditions and decided to make sure that our staff had lunch and delivered the pizza himself. The veterinary community is small, and we are thankful for all of the support. Thanks again Coyne Veterinary Center

This morning we had an incident where a vehicle went through an exterior wall in the front of the building, into our lobby, and crashed into the wall of the front desk. Thankfully, no people or pets were injured.

We want to thank all of those involved in the incident. Thank you to the staff who quickly jumped in to ensure the occupants were safe and for quickly calling EMS. Hobart Fire Department/EMS and Hobart Police Department were all very helpful in helping ensure everybody was safe. Thank you to Mayor Huddlestun for showing up and helping to clean up the debris. That is unheard of and we are very grateful. Thank you to Total Disposal for quickly delivering a box for waste disposal. Thank you to EMS for contacting United Services to quickly have our building secured and for Samson towing for the professional job removing the vehicle from the lobby. Finally, thank you to the staff of Hobart Animal Clinic for jumping in to help with what was needed and for adjusting to the situation to continue to help those pets that were in need this morning.

In less than two hours, everything was cleaned up, the building secured, and addressed as needed.

Hobart is a true family and we felt that this morning. Hobart Police Department will be providing security services for us until final repairs are done, and we are thankful for that as well!

We are in a place to safely reopen. We will continue seeing your pets as usual. Our waiting room size will be reduced. We ask for your patience during this time as it will only be temporary.

With only a day left until Christmas, our elves are working hard to wrap up the last minute details that need to be finalized before the big day. How are things going for all of you?

It appears that there are intermittent problems with the phone system over the last 2 days. The phone company is working on the problem and states that it should be resolved in the next 48 hrs. Apparently, Verizon cell phones trying to call in are having issues connecting. Some are getting through after multiple attempts, so keep trying. We are aware and are trying to get it resolved. Thank you for your patience.

Today marks the end of Veterinary Tech appreciation week, and we have loads more pictures to share of our awesome staff. But today also marks the end of an amazing career at HAC. One of the most instrumental parts of our practice has decided to retire. Our clients won't recognize her except for a select few, but she has been our IT guru, our finicial manager, and....well about 100 other job tags and titles. She will no doubtedly be missed by everyone who has the pleasure to work with her. She, I am sure, will not miss the late night computer collapsing phone calls. The clinic shared in her favorite pizza and decorated her favorite black kitty theme to help bring her career to a close. We appreciate everything you have done for us Brenda. Enjoy the grandkids and a long retirement!

Tech week is our professions way of setting aside time to appreciate the people that help our DVMs and our profession move forward and care for our patients. We make it a week of special days. Taco Tuesday was about as popular a day as we can get! Who doesn't love Tacos? Our staff sure loved it!

K-9 Scout has been the epitome of dedication and service. To be just a small part of his care and wellness over his service time and retirement has been a true honor to us and our staff. Rest easy K-9 Scout. We will miss you.

Last week our staff was blessed with a surprise lunch visit from the local Red Robin! Very generous of the manager to drop by and give the staff some tasty treats. Can't thank them enough for such a generous offer.

As this week comes to a close, we would like to share some of the goodies our reception staff was treated to. This week was receptionist week and it was loaded with fun and delicious ways to show our appreciation. From Taco Tuesday to sweet treats, there was plenty to go around. We can't thank our reception staff enough for the job they do for our clients and all our other staff. Thank you all for the job you do!
