🥰Kids + Dogs🐶 growing up together is such a rewarding and beneficial experience. Having a furry companion helps kiddos develop important life skills and provides them with a loyal and unconditionally loving companion during those formative years.
Science agrees:
•pediatric health concluded that kids who lived with pets (especially dogs) during their first year of life actually had a better immune system than those who did not.
•research suggests that kids who talk to pets show improved cognitive development.
•research has found that children’s stress levels decrease when reading aloud to a dog.
Some schools and animal rescues even have programs where children practice reading to animals.
•petting a dog has been proven to lower cortisol levels.
Playing with a pet raises levels of serotonin and dopamine, which calm the mind and increase the mood.
•other than the obvious benefits of being more active and getting outside more when playing with a dog, several studies have suggested that children who have dogs also have better health and a decreased chance of developing allergies.

☘️Our Irish girl, Tilly, & her pot of golden puppies 🐶
This sweet little boy is Reepicheep from our current Chronicles of Narnia Litter. He weighed only 5 ounces when he was born. A very small newborn considering he is a standard size doodle.He and his Littermates were born 5 days early. Today is their expected due date. Preemie puppies may be small, thin, and have little or no hair. Moms may reject a preemie pup. His mom struggled as she was as surprised as we were when puppies came early. She was also exhausted by the time he was born after delivering 15 puppies total. He was born third from the end. The last two pups after him were stillborn. The litter was just too big. She is now caring for 13 pups, this guy being the smallest and most underdeveloped. Survival for a preemie is possible, but they require an enormous amount of care and some have to be hand fed if they cannot suckle.We are helping her round the clock with all pups but extra with this guy. We fed him with a sponge but he just had no strength to latch. We were concerned about aspiration so we use a child’s medicine syringe to monitor amount fed, direction and a slow release. It was touch and go for the first few days. We are overjoyed to share that he is gaining weight and his suckle is strengthening each day. His other siblings are doing great and have been gaining weight regularly.♥️His litter name fits him: Reepicheep in the books is a small mouse but the leader of the Talking Mice of Narnia; an irascible yet imperturbably courteous, utterly without fear, and motivated by honour.We call him “Cheep” for short, plus his little whine sounds like a bird chirp.Please keep this little guy in your prayers as he gets stronger each day.
