Let's talk

The Not so common and uncomfortable topics.

Please share your experiences or if you don't want to share publicly you're more than welcome to share with me in confidence.

1) Brumation - do you lose any animals during this process and if yes is it yearly and if so on average how many?

2) Pairing - During this time are you using a 1: 1 ratio or? At what weight do you breed your female? What's your fertility rate, what success and unsuccessful experiences would you like to share?

3) Eggs - What's the average clutch size? Are you getting all good eggs? How many slugs on average and if all good are any going bad during the incubation process? Are you losing animals during the gestation period or laying or even after?

I am going to randomly ask questions and I would really appreciate it if you could openly answer. There's no right or wrong, and I don't want anyone bashing someone for their way ... I am trying to have open discussions to get more information and data for us all. If this works well, I'll continue with a few questions every month or something.

Well I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and still plenty more to hatch. If we get nothing else this year I am perfectly okay with that.
