PARTIAL CARE STALLS AVAILABLE

We’ve got two stalls open at Owl Glen, a quiet, private horse property just 5 minutes from 164th and Fourth Plain. This is a partial-care setup, you bring your own hay, grain, and routine, and we provide the structure, daily turnout, and a peaceful place to enjoy your horse. We’re looking for someone who wants to stay long-term and is respectful of communal boarding.

Board Includes:
• Morning feeding of your hay and grain
• Daily turnout (weather permitting)
• Two seasonal pastures
• Weekly pellet bedding during turn-in season
• Small indoor arena, round pen, tack closets, hot and cold wash rack, trailer parking, short walking trail (great for keeping your senior or rehab horse in shape), community viewing room, hay storage

You Provide:
• All feed (prepped AM/PM)
• Stall and paddock cleaning
• Your own vet, farrier, etc.

Not a fit for:
• First-time horse owners
• Folks who need full care or training services
• High-drama or Unreliable Boarders

What boarders say:

" It's a great place for senior horses. Nice and quiet and peaceful, lots of care taken with individual needs, and there's space for people to come just spend time with them. A lot of places that cater more towards seniors or retirement board don't have anywhere to really enjoy your horse aside from the pasture."

“Angus & Chloe love Owl Glen ”

If that sounds like your kind of place, email us at [email protected] and tell us a bit about you and your horse. We’ll send you more info and take it from there.

🐴 STALL OPENING – PARTIAL CARE ONLY 🐴

Owl Glen has one stall available with the possibility of future openings. We're a small, quiet barn offering partial care only — we do morning turnout, you handle evening feed or prep, bring-in, and stall cleaning (we're flexible with needs). We charge $350/Month and do require a contract.

✅ 12x12 matted stall
✅ Seasonal 24/7 turnout (weather & herd permitting)
✅ Hot wire fencing
✅ Tack storage & trailer parking
✅ 1/2 mile walking trail — limited riding space
✅ Peaceful spot with dogs, cats, chickens & a small herd of 13 mostly senior horses.

We’re focused on keeping things calm, clean, and cooperative. We’ve had our share of chaos and are rebuilding the right way — with good people and good habits.

🔎 Vetting required — includes a meet & greet and professional vet/farrier references.

📩 Message us for more info or to set up a visit. Not suitable for full-care needs or drop-off boarding. Just good folks taking care of good horses.

🔥 Fire Season is Here – Let’s Be Ready 🔥

Hey folks,
With recent fires like the Rowena Fire and Sand Hill Fire popping up in the Gorge, this is your reminder that fire season is here, and we need to stay ready. We're not in immediate danger right now—but we all know how fast that can change. These early-season fires are a nudge from Mother Nature that it’s time to tighten things up and prepare.
If you’ve boarded here during fire season before, you know I don’t wait around to see if things get bad—I monitor fire behavior religiously, and I’m always thinking two steps ahead. I’ve evacuated us before (during the Nakia Creek Fire) and helped with fire-related horse rescues more than once in my past Colorado life. So I’ve seen what happens when people aren’t prepared. We don’t do that here!!

Here’s what I need from each of you:
Make sure your horse loads well. Practice if needed.
make sure I have contact phone numbers to reach you in an instant. PLEASE make sure you have that to me along with current stall card information (I can update them if needed) They help with emergency situations so having current stall cards will help in these cases.
Confirm I have your horse’s current records: vaccinations, Coggins, health certs, etc.
Label halters and leads, and keep them easy to grab.
Have a basic “go bag” ready for your horse—meds, special feed, anything essential.
I also want to remind everyone: review the preparation plans I’ve posted in the barn and shared with you all before. If you need a fresh copy, just let me know—I’ll get one to you. It’s a great checklist to make sure you’ve got everything ready to roll.

Our Evacuation Plan:
If we ever do need to move, our first destination will be the Clark County Fairgrounds. If that fills up or isn’t an option, I’ve got backup locations I will line up for us, just like I did during our last evacuation. I will make sure we have a safe landing spot—we’ll be ahead of the game.
But here’s the key thing I always say:
It’s better to evacuate while we have time than to evacuate when there is no time.
A single horse that won’t load can turn a 20-minute departure into a 4-hour delay—and that can become a life-or-death situation in a fire. We don’t have time for that when there’s no time. So—preparedness: 100%. That’s how we do things around here.
If you have questions, need help with anything on your checklist, or want a walk-through, come talk to me.
Thanks for being proactive and responsible. It keeps all of us—and all of our horses—safer.
Best,
Russ Langfett

🌾 Stall Available at Owl Glen – Private Partial-Care Barn for a Good-Fit Boarder 🌾
We have one stall opening at Owl Glen, a private, quiet horse property in NE Vancouver, WA—convenient to Fourth Plain and 164th. We’re seeking a mature, drama-free boarder who’s a good fit for our close-knit, horse-first setup.
This is a partial/custom care facility, not a full-service barn. That means you bring your own hay, grain, and supplements; we provide the structure, daily routines, and care tailored to your horse’s needs. After recent experiences with boarders who were not a match for our barn culture, we’ve strengthened our vetting process to ensure only the right kind of horseman or horsewoman joins our little community.
________________________________________
🐴 CARE ROUTINE & TURNOUT:
• 12 x 12 indoor stall in our main barn for feeding and overnight shelter during cooler months
• Daily turnout into an outer barn stall with a private paddock
• Seasonal turnout routine:
➤ Spring–Fall: Horses are turned out to pasture 24/7 (weather permitting)
➤ Late Fall–Winter: Return to our turn-in/turn-out schedule
• Horses are checked daily; owners and staff live on-site for peace of mind
• Flexible care options tailored to your horse’s needs and your schedule
________________________________________
🧰 AMENITIES INCLUDE:
• Hot/Cold wash rack
• 60 x 120 indoor arena
• Tack room with secure storage
• Feed/supplement storage and prep space
• Hay storage space
• Trailer parking available
• Shared grooming/tacking areas
• Round pen access for light work and groundwork
• Peaceful rural setting— dogs, cats, chickens, cows, and country charm included
• Friendly and respectful environment
________________________________________
EXPECTATIONS:
• We do not provide hay or feed—you supply what works best for your horse
• COMMUNICATION – THIS is the key to success.
• No hard drugs, no sketchy folks, no constant chaos
• No overnight guests, unapproved visitors, or barn freeloaders
• No first-time horse owners. We provide the space for you to own, we don’t teach you how.
________________________________________
✅ WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• Adult boarders with common sense, clear communication, and a respect for animals and shared spaces
• Horse owners who want hands-on involvement and appreciate a structured, no-nonsense barn
• Someone who understands boundaries, picks up after themselves, and contributes to a peaceful barn culture
• Willing to meet in person and go through a friendly but firm vetting process
________________________________________
Why It Matters:
Owl Glen is our home, not a business empire. We've dealt with folks who abused our trust or created chaos, and we’re not going back there. We care deeply about animal welfare, clean routines, and strong mutual respect. If you do too, you might just be our kind of people.
📩 Send a message with info about yourself and your horse. Let’s talk and see if this is a good fit.

We’re Almost to Pixie’s First Big Milestone!

Thanks to so many kind and generous people, we’ve raised $855 toward Pixie’s care so far. That gets us so close to the $1,000 we need to cover her initial exam and x-rays, scheduled for April 22nd at Columbia Equine.

This first visit is crucial—it will give us the answers and direction we need for her long-term treatment. But the clinic requires payment in full at the time of the appointment, so we’re in a race against the clock to raise the final $145.

If you’d like to help, you can:
Donate through our GoFundMe
Or call Columbia Equine Hospital at (503) 663-1515 to donate directly (just mention it’s for Pixie at Owl Glen Stables)

If you donate directly, please email me at [email protected] so I can track the total.

Our full goal is $8,000 to support Pixie through this journey, but reaching this first $1,000 is the key to opening the door. Thank you so much for every share, donation, and word of encouragement. You are truly making a difference.
