ATTENTION HUNTERS:

We have hit max capacity for the year. I will say it is not easy setting a cap on how many animals I take in but I am still working on getting my turn around time a little faster. I can only handle so much work per year. Typically I lose the month of November and most of December fleshing animals that come in. This will give me an extra couple months to work on last years animals.

If you have made previous arrangements with me this does not apply.

Thank you all for understanding this is not an easy thing to do but I am hoping in the future it will be more beneficial for everyone!

This bull was covered in ticks when it was dropped off. I remember picking up the hide and my black hoodie was peppered with ticks! Crazy to think enough of them can take down a moose.

Ive really slacked off the last few years taking pictures of finished moose mounts just due to the sheer size of them. But I finally got a spot set up to take good photos.

This was a unique piece. My customer wanted a half mount bear hanging onto a tree with a hole in it with honey bees. This is what I came up with!

This cow moose was pushing 850 lbs. I ended up taking a bull moose form which the shoulders fit perfect. Narrowed up the head and reworked the anatomy to make it more feminine and carved down the neck. Bulls are cool but this one sure is pretty!

Bear season is coming up in only a few short weeks. Its a good idea to have a taxidermist already lined up so you can get your bear taken care of in a timely manner. This time of year can be really hot and slippage can occur quickly if the bear isn’t cooled and processed as soon as possible.

We hope you trust Crown of Maine Taxidermy to artistically preserve your bear. We don’t just slap a skin on a form and call it good. We take the necessary time to properly fit the form to YOUR bear!

We will be accepting Lifesize, Half Lifesize, Shoulders and Rugs.This year we will not be accepting soft tanned skins or skulls in order to maximize our workflow and focus more on the mounts.

This bear required lots and lots of alterations for both pose and size but it was all worth it! Love this natural standing pose on all fours.
