✨🐾 Bridgette’s Holiday Visit: A True Inspiration! 🐾✨

We had the BEST surprise! Bridgette, the resilient Bernadoodle who captured our hearts earlier this year, stopped by for a special holiday visit! 🥰 Seeing her happy, healthy, and thriving with her family was truly the ultimate gift.

Bridgette’s journey from critical condition to conquering life is nothing short of incredible. Back in February, she amazed us all with her strength, receiving eight blood transfusions and enduring emergency surgery to remove damaged intestines. Our team rallied to provide the round-the-clock care she needed, but her recovery wouldn’t have been possible without her devoted mom, Emily. ❤️

Fast forward to today, and Bridgette is living her best life — tail wags, snuggles, and all! This sweet girl’s visit was a heartwarming reminder of why we do what we do. 🌟

💌 Thank you, Emily, for letting us share in Bridgette’s journey and for trusting us during such a critical time.

🐾 Meet Java! This sweet 5-year-old Lab recently moved to the area and has joined us for ongoing oncology care under Dr. Kimberly Wirth, DVM, DACVIM (Medical Oncology). Java was diagnosed with a metastatic mast cell tumor in 2022, and he’s been doing wonderfully. During his first visit, he quickly won over our team and enjoyed some play time with the oncology crew. We're honored to support him on his journey.❤️🐶

Our compassionate oncology team, including Dr. Kimberly Wirth, DVM, DACVIM (Medical Oncology), Dr. Tara Ehling, DVM, DACVIM (Medical Oncology), DACVR (Radiation Oncology), and Dr. Lauren Redies, DVM, is dedicated to providing personalized care for each pet. We work closely with pet owners to develop a treatment plan that best suits their individual needs. Together, we can navigate this journey with hope and understanding.

🐾 Winston’s Comeback Story! 🐾

Meet Winston, a brave 4-month-old Corgi who recently needed a little extra TLC after a left hind femur fracture. On 9/27, our team had the honor of helping this cutie through surgery and recovery. 💙

Our amazing technician Jose assisted every step of the way, from intake to anesthesia, and even during the discharge. Cases like Winston’s remind us of why we love what we do – nothing beats seeing a happy tail wag as our patients reunite with their families! 🐕👨‍👩‍👦

Under the expert care of Dr. Heather Siemon, Practice Limited to Surgery, Winston underwent a successful fracture repair. Watching his human brother’s joy when Winston was ready to go home was the perfect ending to this journey. 🏠💖

Welcome Dr. Kimberly Wirth, DVM, DACVIM (Medical Oncology), our new Board Certified Oncologist at Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists!

Dr. Wirth hails from Byron, Illinois, and has an impressive background in veterinary medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Minor in Environmental Sciences in 2004 and her DVM in 2009, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She further specialized with a rotating internship at Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialists, an oncology clinical trials internship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, and a residency in medical oncology at the University of Florida, completed in 2014.

Outside of her professional accomplishments, Dr. Wirth enjoys a creative and fulfilling life in Wisconsin with her husband, their two dogs, three cats, a bearded dragon, and a hedgehog. Her hobbies include crafting, painting, writing children’s books, reading, shopping, and enjoying coffee.
