Adoption update: Niawen (thank you) to everyone who put in an application for Lady Sif. She is currently in her new adoptive home and it’s going great!
Her new name is Aurora and has been welcomed with open arms by the children in her new home! Aurora was a long awaited addition to the family. And don’t worry if you would like to adopt we have plenty of kittens to choose from and will post when they are ready!
Also a great big thank you to the foster home that took care of Sif when she wouldn’t p**p in her litterbox bc she didn’t know how, dealt with her fleas, gave her antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection and most importantly, cared for her skinny little body when she was found on the street. ❤️

A great way to start the day! Niawenkowa Ista’s Little Helpers Daycare for the donation towards Operation Takos! ❤️🐾🐈‍⬛ So far we have raised $500 towards our goal of $2,000 to receive a matching grant with our 2024 Business Challenge. The two polydactyl males have been vaccinated, dewormed, flea treatment and examined by our vet. The picture of the 3 together have not been seen by us. This little cutie is still available for adoption. She was so skinny when her foster took her in and nursed her back to health❤️she also had an upper respiratory infection which we treated and now has cleared and is doing great! Lady Sif is her name and cuteness is her game! She is about 8-9 weeks old. Cutest big cheeks just like a maine c**n! If you are interested in adopting her, head to our website and fill out an adoption application! She is a long haired cat so maintenence of her fur will be imperative in preventing matts!

Great news to share! In addition to the free monthly vaccines we provide we will be receiving flea and tick medication and heartworm medication for the pets of Akwesasne! These will be free for community members! Thank you to Greater Goods Charities and Boehringer Ingelheim! We are so happy to be able to provide this for Akwesasne! We have so many new programs starting and can’t wait to share them with you! ❤️🐈‍⬛❤️🐕🐾

So we mentioned our grant award yesterday, it’s for $2,000! As part of the grant we must raise the matching amount of $2,000. It’s called the 2024 Business Challenge. Can we get 4 businesses to donate $500 each to support Operation Takos?!? Tag a business you think would help our community out! All the funds go right back to helping our TNR efforts. (trap neuter return of the community cats of Akwesasne) In the end we will have $4,000 to help the community cats!❤️🐈‍⬛🐾

We are happy to report that Shimo and Kong have been adopted together and went to their new home today! ❤️🐾🐈‍⬛ They were the sweetest kittens and we will miss taking care of them! ❤️
Also niawen to the anonymous donor of the $.05 bag of cans, they can be dropped off anytime at 20 Swamp Rd! This is the only approved drop off spot that we collect cans and we are always accepting them to help offset costs to care for the kitties!🐾 Niawenkowa! Our next vaccination clinic will be held on Saturday June 8, 2024! As always, FREE FREE FREE, we have provided almost 500 free vaccines for the dogs and cats of Akwesasne since October 2023! We have loved seeing your pets every month and keeping them healthy! Sign up link below ! Message us with any questions! Tribal members only at this time.

FREE vaccinations for your dog and/or cat. Distemper/Parvo provided by Petco Love and rabies vaccine provided by Greater Good Charities. Cats only from 10-11:30 dogs from 11:45-2pm. 1 time slot per pet please. Please provide pets name, age, breed. Niawen!

Thank you our Golf cart girls Keely and Remy who did a great job selling the 50/50 and Lori and Kaly for helping at the tent! We hope everyone enjoyed seeing the kittens today as well. They were p**ped out at the end of the day from all the visiting they received!❤️

We will be set up at Roadblock Billys parking lot at the memorial day parade on Sunday. We will have 50/50 tickets and a mohawk raffle, some prizes include (5) CKON swag bags with BINGO gift certificates, Gucci pet carrier, bakeware, pop up gazebo, 32” TV, kids summer basket of goodies, Spongebob cat house and much more! we will also have our little kittens Kong and Shimo with us!!! We are still accepting donations for the raffle please donate if you can!! We will accept Venmo and Etransfer, Paypal and Cash!!

Our January 13 vaccination clinic was a success in spite of the bad weather! Thank you to Petco Love for providing the vaccines and to the Hogansburg Akwesasne Vol Fire Department for lending us their facility. A donation of pet toys was provided by Catholic Charities of Malone. The AAS would like to thank all the volunteers for helping out. The next vaccination clinic will be in February. #PetcoLovePartner

Operation Takò:s -Week 9 - We got one male and 3 females this week; we released 2 kittens that were previously trapped and spayed back to their colony because they were not coming around but they will not contribute to the cat overpopulation! Operation Takò:s - Week 8 - We brought 6 cats in, 3 males and 3 females. This batch was less smelly than the previous one 😀 Thank you Mohawks of Akwesasne Community Settlement Trust for this opportunity!

Babies everywhere!! these little ones have been in foster care for almost 6 weeks now and are doing great thanks to their loving foster home! We will post when they are ready for adoption! Life as a kitten is pretty cool: eat, play, sleep,repeat!

Operation Takò:s - Week 7 - We brought 5 cats in, 4 males and one female who was on the early stages of pregnancy. Another successful week, thanks to Mohawks of Akwesasne Community Settlement Trust for this opportunity!

Operation Takò:s - Week 6 - We brought 8 cats in (4 males and 4 females) - this time no females were pregnant. We trapped a kitten that will not be spayed or neutered at this time but will be socialized. Thank you Mohawks of Akwesasne Community Settlement Trust for this opportunity! #operationtakos #tnr

Operation Takò:s - Week 5 - The one and only Wolly Bully this week. He was so calm and quiet! Thank you to Mohawks of Akwesasne Community Settlement Trust for this opportunity!

Operation Takò:s Week 4 - We brought in 8 stray cats - 3 males and 5 females (all pregnant but one) and one had 5 kittens on the operating table! The Operation Takò:s team has been taking care of the family. Another proof that it is important to have your cats spayed/neutered. Operation Takó:s Week 3 - we brought in 8 cats, 4 males and 4 females that were already pregnant! Hazel was the star of the bunch; this super kitty chewed her stitches off and had to be brought back to the vet for new ones; she then took her cone off several times and even found a way to get out of her pyjama! She kept Jenna busy for sure. Thank you to Mohawks of Akwesasne Community Settlement Trust for this opportunity!
