“Kurt” the Sloth Bear says happy first day of spring!🌸 This snout isn’t just for booping, they use their strong sense of smell to find termite mounds and to forage for insects!🐜 Their nostrils clamp shut allowing them to use their mouths like vaccums to enjoy all of the treats they find. Visit him along the “Wildlife Walk Through” and see what other animal friends you can meet along the way!🐻

In honor of International Zebra Day we are showing off our stripes!🦓

Zebras form strong social bonds within their herd, this ensures that they are able to fend off predators as a unit. When threatened, zebras form a semi-circle, ready to strike if necessary. They are vital for maintaining ecosystem balance, these pioneer grazers prevent overgrowth of certain plants, encouraging biodiversity!!🌾

🐒 We are Hiring for a Full Time position. 🦥 If you are interested in working at Georgia Untamed Zoo we would like to hear from you! Before you decide to send your resume or request further information please consider the following:

👉🏻You would be responsible for the care of the animals during all seasons. Winters are cold 🥶 & summers are 🥵 hot.
👉🏻Physical Labor- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
👉🏻Our animals depend on you. Are you able to arrive to work on time? Also due to weather, events and other unforeseeable conflicts you must be flexible!
👉🏻Must have reliable transportation
👉🏻Must be 18 years or older
👉🏻Must be a diligent and self driven individual who REALLY likes animals

About the Animal Care position:
* Feeding of animals- including diet preparation
* Behavioral observation of the animals
* Enclosure maintenance including upkeeping the grounds of the Zoo & enclosures
* Providing environmental enrichment for the animals
* Cleaning & assisting with upkeep of the facility
* Self motivated and people skills because you will interacting and educated the public
* Full time position

New Year…New Zoo! We are excited to announce that Iron P Homestead Zoo is officially rebranding to Georgia Untamed Zoo!
As we embark on this new adventure, we want to assure you that our commitment to providing an entertaining, educational, and unforgettable experience for zoo guests remains our top priority. We are excited to announce our new brand as it better reflects our identity here as we offer our unparalleled UNTAMED zoo experience! Please be patient with us as we make this transition as well as update our ticketing platform and website. We will also begin a few extensive construction projects over the next few weeks as we expand our facilities to better suit guest experience. Stay tuned for updates! 👀

Season Pass Holders…Yes, your 2025 Iron P Homestead Zoo Season Pass will still be valid. You will be receiving an updated pass in your inbox within the next few weeks. In the meantime, your current 2025 IPHZ Season pass will be valid and no reservations are required.

🐒“Jack” the African Vervet Monkey enjoying his Christmas Tree Enrichment! Fir Trees offers great enrichment for many species here at the zoo for their distinct scents, tastes, and feel! Drop off your tree at the zoo until January 10th to receive a voucher for Free Animal Feed! Trees must be free of decorations, tinsel, and flocking! 🎄
