🌳 BIG NEWS FROM THE TREETOPS! 🌳
We’re thrilled to announce the newest addition to the Georgia Untamed Zoo family! 🦥 💚

Proud mama Savannah, our beloved Linnaeus’s two-toed sloth, welcomed her little one in late May, and both mom and baby are doing great. 🍼🦥 Visitors might catch a glimpse of this tiny bundle of cuteness during our Sloth Encounters — just look closely, baby is usually snuggled right on mom’s belly!

This birth is a meaningful milestone for us and part of our mission to educate and inspire conservation of these incredible, slow-moving rainforest dwellers. 🌿

Stay tuned for updates as our baby sloth continues to grow — and yes, a name reveal is coming soon!

Have you seen “Freya” the Spectacled Owl🦉 at Georgia Untamed Zoo?!

This species of owl is native to the dense tropical forests of South America, where they hunt small mammals, birds, or even insects! These excellent hunters can rotate their head 270 degrees, making for the ideal predator!

DID YOU KNOW⁉️

Sloth Bears lose their front teeth around age five. This is to help them ingest more of their diet, consisting of: termites, ants, and other insects!🐜 Their nostrils clamp shut to keep them protected from dust and insects while they use their mouths like a vacuum to suck up whatever critters they find.

Fun Fact: Wallabies aren’t very vocal, but rather communicate by thumping their feet, clicking, or even kicking to get their point across.
