Congratulations to our friend Princetonmapolicek9 Cruiser!! 🐾❤️
Almost two years ago, Officer Holly Doyle of the Princeton PD reached out to me (Jen) about adding a Therapy Dog to their department. I was VERY pregnant, but knew I could rely on my team at The Right Paw. So I jumped at the opportunity to help Holly on this new journey.
Darlynn Oberg, the pervious owner of The Right Paw and the breeder at Belhaven Labradors, generously offered to donate a puppy for this program. Not only did she donate a puppy, but she let our own puppy tester, Mallory Galatzer-Levy, test her entire litter of puppies and select the puppy that she thought was best suited for the job.
Cruiser went home with Holly, and I went in to the hospital to have a baby, yikes!
Holly started training right away. She took Puppy Class and Beginner Obedience class with Jill Converse, who many of you have gotten to work with. And I continued Cruiser and Holly's training when I returned from maternity leave.
Holly has been attending class almost weekly since she brought Cruiser home. She completed 13 group classes and several private lessons. On Wednesday 5/21/25, Holly and Cruiser passed their Therapy Dogs United test! The effort that Holly put in to training Cruiser is immense, and our community is so lucky to have this team.
I want to give a special thanks to Todd Ventres for all his help with training Cruiser. And thank you to our Therapy Dog testers, Christina and Linda! It really takes a village!
