It was a big weekend for the Southpaw Crew! 🐾 Koda received her HR Title 🏅 and Harley (Luna’s pup) received her SHR Title 🏅
Meet Max - he’s 9 years old. He’s been training his dog Gus (one of Luna’s pups) after school and on weekends and ran their first Hunting Retriever Club Hunt Test in Wood River, Nebraska over the weekend. Lessons were learned, and they came away with passing both days of tests! He was the youngest handler in the test over the weekend. He also was the LUCKY WINNER of a Nebraska Lifetime Hunt Permit at the banquet! Watching him light up with excitement made the whole weekend!

It was a great weekend in Hartford, SD at the Dakota Hunting Retriever Club. Bringing home passes were Harley (owned by Scott Crowell), and our personal dogs Siren & Koda. A HUGE THANK YOU to Dakota HRC Judges and Bird Techs for putting on a great test. Back at home bringing home ribbons from the Phelps County 4H Dog Show were Leroy (owned/handled by Emerson Hohensee) and Gus (owned/handled by Maura McQuillan). We are so proud of Luna’s puppies competing in their first events at 7 months old and Koda for doing her thing as usual!
Construction update - concrete pad and plumbing underneath are complete… ready for framing! Thank you to TL Sund out of Lexington for the concrete and Anderson Brothers out of Holdrege for the plumbing work! (Last picture is a year ago when we purchased the property).
