The danger of primate bans is real and we need access to public perception to offset the sort of stuff that they are fed which is a mix of misinformation and documentaries like "chimp crazy".

We can share all we like on the primate groups but that doesn't get any traction with Joe public who don't get to see it because of the Facebook algorithm.

Creating the 'Captive Primate Community News' Twitter account, and putting on there just a few well-made videos in the form of small commercials showing the reality of primary ownership, can give us access to a much bigger audience....

If we're going to be lobbying to fight these bans we need to get the lobbyists something they can link to and something we can feed the press to start changing public perception.

Just liking things and sharing them on our groups isn't going to cut it, we need to be sharing the links to these short videos/commercials in non primate groups, and on local sites, and to local media.

I can get them made and I propose making a pilot, but I'm going to need support from people who are going to help me find clips, research facts and data, find resources for local news contacts etc.

We don't need a lot of people and we don't need a lot of time, but if there isn't a significant interest then it's a pretty pointless exercise, so I'm casting my bread to the waters one more time to see who's out there and what level of interest.

On the way to Fig’s emergency vet visit I got a call from the local PetSmart. This baby was dropped off there. When I got to the vet I started looking closely and realized what o was told were “bubbles” (think ant bites) weren’t any such thing. This baby has been attacked by a cat and has multiple injuries. The vet walked in while I was looking at him and offered to look. He didn’t like what he was seeing and did an X-ray. The femur is broken. Chances of survival are slim, but we have a plan in place and are going to try. Love and light appreciated💔🐿️

I am sorry for the past month it’s been a crazy ride but I think I am ready to share our story…..
Babies did arrive end of May as expected but unfortunately we had some complications during birth with momma and it’s been an absolute nightmare.

Momma spiked a high fever for unknown reasons and we immediately took her to the vet to finish with a c section and she passed on the table.

I did the best I could on bottle feeding but babies really need mommas milk to be healthy and thrive especially colostrum and even though we were able to buy a colostrum substitute it just wasn’t enough,

It has been a heartbreaking month, but we are making it.

On a good note we are expecting a litter the middle of July. I know we have so many people wanting a baby right now so please be patient with us getting back to you.
