I will be posting the following bucks on "Last Call". Both had been held for wool breeders who ended up making other decisions for their rabbitry. Which it happens and I'm thankful they told me, but not at the expensive of dragging me along forever...

Needless to say... offering LAST CALL on the following:

English Angoras

Buck - May 2024 - Black Tort VM (no pedigree, pet home) only 2-0

Buck - May 2024 - Blue VC (no pedigree, pet home) only 2-0

Both would make great indoor pets or can be used in your wooler program. No pedigrees for pet homes.

I will be posting my holdback Buck from my May 2024 litter as I am considering changing my program for my Contis moving forward. He is a WE Black VM/VC buck with Full pedigree. He enjoys his run time and once he's had a chance to get out and play/run he settles right down to be held or chill while you read a book or watch a movie. He would be an asset to a WE Conti breeding program. I will be picky where he goes and might only offer for a limited time. For those interested, please PM for more information and pictures.

I will be offering a BEW Continental Giant buck with full pedigree and proven. He is not for a pet home and only to breeders with very large setups. He has a poor temperament but so far it has not passed on to his offspring from my first litter by him. He is available to go at any time and can hop on transports within 30 minutes of Holland OH AND a reputable transporter who has large transport carriers AND schedules their run in advance so I have a day/time for meeting at minimum of a few days in advance so I can make arrangements. Information and pictures available upon request!

DO NOT BUY OR "ADOPT" RABBITS OUT OF THE NESTBOX!

This is becoming another trend among pet breeders, inexperienced breeders and scammers. While with dogs or even horses, it can be common practice to sell before even conception. However. Rabbits were born to die - they stress easily, can get ill in the weaning process, can get injured, etc. Not to mention you cannot know the wool quality or body type fresh out of the nestbox. I do not accept deposits on rabbits before weaning either. I want to make sure that the rabbits I post are healthy, well adjusted, and ideally know body type or have an idea of such. I breed for MYSELF and MY PROGRAM first. I do not breed to "run a business" or crank out as many rabbits as possible. I prefer quality over quantity and retain what I need to, want to, for my show program. What I offer as pet, brood/show, is what I do not want or need for my program.

I will provide quick education to unknowing pet owners. However. Moving forward I will only provide the information 1 time. If you continue to message me demanding or requesting nestbox babies or request to pick them up before they can even be weaned... I will block. You would have shown you are immature, inexperienced, and not ready for a living animal to care for. Maybe Build A Bear will be more your style until you are mature enough to properly research and handle the few care requirements.

The scary thing is a person I recently had to block is a "Doodle" breeder who pumps out dozens of litters each year and they were demanding to buy entire litters of my EA to "hand raise" but wanted me to put them on a transport for a week... what??? People are most certainly special!

Litter Announcement

English Angoras
This litter is from a very nice show line I have been working with and incorporating into my BEW program. This litter is free from ANY Vienna and would be suitable in other non-Vienna/Non-BEW show programs. Those interested can PM me to get on the waiting list - in about 8 weeks when I make my selections for first round to hold back for myself, I will contact those on the list first to let them know the availability. Blacks and 1 REW.

Otherwise we will have many more Vienna and BEW upcoming this winter. This week has been a very busy breeding week for my does as they are loving this weather!

Birth Announcement of English Angoras
October 3, 2024

Out of a Black buck - no vienna behind him - and crossed on to a Black VM doe V785-Blackberry.

I will be making decisions very early and swiftly for these winter litters. No Vienna carriers will be kept back and VMs will only be held on to for grow out if they check all the boxes. Blessed to be able to work with my program in a big way this winter.

Was feeding tonight and figured I'd stop and take a quick sneak-peek picture of the 2 new BEW that have joined the rabbitry. They are in quarantine cages and in a few short weeks will upgrade and join the rest of the EA

I welcomed 2 good looking BEW English Angoras I to my program tonight. They are currently relaxing by the A/C in their quarantine cages. Can't wait to see how they grow

I will say this again and again and again and again if need be. I will happily continue to block people who continue to show poor character especially when requesting "a buck and doe with pedigree but to be house pets, no breeding" for 20 each to in turn want to use them to breed and "well make a profit off them but like they are still our pets". That's not how that works at all.

When a breeder stipulates a pet quality/no breeding home = no pedigree, it's because they determined the animal to not fit their program and/or have too many faults/or a DQ BUT still have good health/vigor and a lovely temperament for a good pet home. The breeder intends to find a GOOD pet home for the animal at a lesser cost or even the rare chance for free rather than send the rabbit to freezer camp.

Additionally a breeder could recommend a rabbit specifically for a PET OR "Fiber" home - "Fiber" being someone who will continue to grow/maintain the animal to be able to harvest the Fiber from their coats several times a year.

For those who do not know what the reference "freezer camp" means, it is descriptive of the animal being harvested for either human consumption or another animals consumption (whether for cat or dog food, exotic/zoo feed or even a wildlife rehabilitation center).

Quality does not reflect price.
Price does not reflect quality.

If you are looking for $10 or $20 Continental Giants or even English Angoras, you need to stick to Craigslist scrolls or take your chances getting something from the cull buyer at a show.

Breeders who give a crap about their animals health, care, genetics, etc are not spending thousands per year just to sell you stupid cheap animals for you to breed to junk or other mixed breeds to resell as "designer pets" for $$$-$$$$.

Please. Do. Your. Research.

The cost to import a breed from out of the country costs $$$$. The time and energy in searching for, vetting, transport, etc is almost at times compared to a full time job! Then raising these Giant breed rabbits takes a lot of time and money to do so. Continental Giants are not showable with ARBA but are with BRC. We do not have BRC shows here in the US like we do with ARBA. Therefore Continental Giants are and will remain a speciality breed.

A breed showable in the US but similar to the Continental Giant is a Flemish Giant. Most often you can easily find someone selling for as low as 10-20 for one. Which to me can still even be an insult to the Flemish Giant breed itself and serious breeders/exhibitors of Flemish Giants.

Even for English Angoras. You can generally find them on Craigslist for as long as 20 each and maybe some form of pedigree to boot! Which again - to me is a disservice to the breed but the hardworking breeders/exhibitors who pour their time/money/heart into breeding and developing high quality, healthy animals. Which in turn pains me to see "pet breeders" breeding everything under the sun together to "get pretty colors" to sell 200-800 for a "special color" on an English Angora. 99% of the time these breeders are strictly in it for the money and do not care about the health/vigor of the animal, their lines or developing animals free of defects. Most of these pets produced by these "pet breeders" are sickly/poor immune systems, teeth issues, hock sores, etc.

It gets extremely frustrating to see breeders who pour their time/money/heart into a breed. To better the breed and create quality animals to live quality lives. To be honest about their genetics and to help cultivate youth exhibitors/4H members or even new to the "showing world" adults who were interested in getting started... only to get lied to or have someone try to negotiate down to less than pet store prices or even free for them to turn around and degrade or neglect the animal all in the name of trying to make a "quick side hustle but have super cute pets too". To then get chewed out because the ethical/responsible breeder will not lessen their standards to accommodate the unethical nature and ignorance of others with poor character.

If you read all of this and still choose to message me requesting "pets with pedigree but for super cheap and need a unrelated buck and doe" you just will be blocked. No more time will be wasted trying to explain the difference between pet quality, fiber or broodstock or show quality... no more time wasted explaining the standards or why it's a bad idea for them to want "the most cute but like DQ or whatever, just cheapest you have" to breed to sell.

For those that are still interested, strictly looking for a PET home - no breeding - no pedigree - but have a budget in mind for the initial cost of the rabbit BUT can provide proof of the correct/suitable housing for said animal and show they have the knowledge that Continental Giants require A LOT of food and English Angoras require regular grooming even if you choose to keep them shaved down... then still feel free to let me know upfront. Your odds of getting an animal I'm ready to retire from my program or a grow out that just isn't up to par for myself or such - I sometimes more than likely willing to negotiate with you.

Both bucks have become available again. Would be great in a pet home together with a large enough enclosure and access to supervised larger play pen. Great temperaments. Could also be used in a wooler program or even someone working on BEW for the show table.

This little fella would NOT hold still worth a crap and was too busy wanting to see what I was doing. So. As long as he grows out the way I think he will... he will be staying and replacing my current Black EA buck. So if that's the case...

Everyone welcome to the BEW-autiful EA Team....
"DEADPOOL" He will be grown out and hopefully see some show tables
