I'm hoping I have a family member or friend out there that would like to add this sweet girl to their family. Ellie Mae (Airedale)is a complete sweetheart but like any gal she wants to be in charge! If you have other dogs that are willing to let her be and give her a few days to settle in, they'll be the best of friends. But, if you have a dog that's an Alpha also, it's not going to work.
She does not do cats!!! She is a hunter, and a runner so a fenced yard is best. When I walk her due to her aggressiveness with other dogs I have put her on a pinch collar just cuz with her size it does give you a little bit more control. I have not encountered another dog when I've been on a walk with her but knowing how she reacts to other dogs that have come into my home I definitely think that the pinch collar is a necessity. I would almost go to the point until you're comfortable with her if you're going to walk her right away to possibly muzzle her just in case you should come upon a dog and she should get away from you until you know how she's going to react. That is my biggest fear would be to have her attack another dog. I will attach videos of her playing with my dogs and I have no worries with her playing with my dogs but it also took a week for her to get to that point.
She is 5 years old and not spayed. She weighs 84 lb. She is not up to date on shots. She suffers with skin allergies that I have tried to help with a food change but she will still need further attention with medications, high quality food, oils for skin and vet attention. It has gotten better since she has stayed with me these past few weeks so hopefully she's on her way to being more stable.
Again, I can't express enough how sweet of a dog she is. She will lay your head on your lap for attention. She will come and sit in front of you and paw at your leg when you get home for attention. She is just sweet. She hardly ever barks. She will sit in front of you while you're eating but she's not an obnoxiou
I was contacted by friend inquiring to see if i worked with challenging pets.I had never worked with a dog with the details she was describing, so challenge accepted.
The first meet and greet was to establish his history and see how he reacted to me.
It went well. We set up another time to visit. That one went much better.
I think Wolfie was getting a little of the anxiousness from the owner but I think he wants we were alone was completely fine. I was very excited after we were alone how well he did with just the two of us together after hearing situations that they had had with him before I I'm very proud of the connection that we had that he trusted me and we were able to connect and he felt comfortable doing so with me. I will attach some videos where you can see how we communicate and get along some pictures and of course we went for walks and did not have much confrontation with other dogs . I was able to groom him bathe him multiple times while I was with him for the week and he did just fine never gave me a hard time I picked him up on the bed he slept with me which I was not anticipating him doing at all so it's easily become I think the proudest moment that I've had in all of my time of dog sitting just because he was the hardest dog to get to trust me and he has come the furthest in the shorter amount of time that we've had and just with talking with the owners it seems that he does not typically do this with other people.
