We ❤ dog friendly trails!! Keep them safe and on a leash!

Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays! A holiday centered around spending time with your family, eating delicious food and watching the Detroit Lions.

Spend time with family while taking a hike on our lighted trails this Thanksgiving after stuffing yourself with sweet potato pie, grandma's dressing and turkey.

Hike the Lights is a free event, where we turn our ski trail lights on from sunset until 10pm, every night of the week. At Muskegon Luge we have over 3.5 miles of lighted ski/hiking trails ranging from beginner, accessible trails to intermediate with large hills. A headlamp might be helpful on longer, dark sections of trails.

Dogs are welcome too! We love your four legged friends, and just ask that you keep them on a 6 ft. lead and pick up after them.

Shelters everywhere are full. We are all doing our best to keep up, and try to manage the level of stray intakes, owner surrenders and our long-term stay dogs and cats.

In an effort to help our amazing animals get SEEN, and hopefully adopted - we have decided to offer a BIG OL' (Oaken inspired) ADOPTION FEES WAIVED event this Thursday!

We don't love the term "free" - we don't want it to devalue our shelter pets' worth. Because, well...they're all amazing, and it's just that no one is seeing it/them!
So this Thursday only, we are taking after our big friend Frozen Oaken’s "yoo hoo, summer blowout" with our very own special - "FREE" adoption fees to help our animals get some visibility and hopefully find homes!

Please consider adopting a shelter pet. We need your help, to help more. And there are so, so many animals here worthy of a furever home. Don't miss out! 🐾🥰🙌

Come out this Sunday, 9/10 to support not only the runners, but Harbor Humane as the non-profit partner for this year's Holland Haven Marathon post-race party!
NEW this year - a beer (& seltzer!) truck from Alliance Beverage, big ol chance raffle, DJ beats from our friends and generous donors of their time and energy , free lunch thanks to Boar's Head Provisions and Yesterdog and Heinz, and of course....PUPPIES!

There is no cost to attend as a guest - runners, family, friends, spectators and the whole community is welcome! The more the merrier - especially to celebrate this (p)awesome partnership and raise some funds for our shelter pets!
