Here’s what you’re going to do…

Step 1: Build value next to you
Before walking, reward your puppy for choosing to be near your leg.

Step 2: Micro-walks win
Take 1 step → reward. Then 2 steps → reward. Keep sessions short.

Step 3: End on success
Stop before your puppy gets overstimulated or grabby.

🎉Goal: Walking with you becomes more rewarding than racing ahead.

Most people focus on obedience…

But confidence starts with feet on the ground 🐾

Teaching your puppy to walk on different surfaces helps them:
✨ trust their body
✨ recover from hesitation
✨ learn that new ≠ scary

These tiny reps create dogs who can handle the world later.

🎉HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY, GOOSE🎉

Goose is not only a great companion to us but also has been the best demo dog and lovingly coined “Uncle Goose” to all our puppy head starters💗

We love you sweet boy💙

You’ll want to save this for later

Help teach your puppy how to settle young, so you have this skill for later!

Here’s how:
1️⃣ Start in a quiet space away from distractions and have plenty of kibble or low-value treats with you.
2️⃣ bring out a mat/bed and “yes” and treat for ANY interest (looking at it, sniff, stepping on it)
3️⃣ “yes” and treat for stepping on the bed, standing on it or sitting on the bed.
4️⃣ After some time, your puppy will lie down. You will jackpot (drop 3-5 treats) to your down lying down.
5️⃣ Once consistently going and lying down, you can add a release word (“free or “okay”) and toss a treat off the bed. (you’ll want to release frequently in early stages)
6️⃣ Wait for your puppy to return to the bed and wait for them to offer a sit or down->”yes” and treat.
7️⃣ Once your puppy is reliably offering a down, you can start building duration.

TIP: keep the bed put away when not training during the early stages to avoid confusion!

Don’t make these mistakes!

❌Putting the tree up with your puppy loose
To your puppy, this is you unveiling a giant, glittering playground.

✨Instead, set it up while they’re gated, penned, or tethered so the excitement stays low.

❌Hanging tempting ornaments on the bottom branches. Shiny balls = PERFECT “toys” in puppy brain.

✨Instead, keep fragile or high-value ornaments up high and use soft ones down low.

❌Letting cords and lights dangle. Puppies LOVE chewing cords.

✨Instead, run them through cord covers or tape them securely to the wall.

❌Leaving the tree unsupervised
If you wouldn’t leave your puppy alone with a rotisserie chicken… don’t leave them alone with the tree.

✨Instead, use a pen, baby gate, or crate when you can’t supervise.

Your puppy isn’t being “naughty.” The tree is just incredibly exciting. Set them up for success and you’ll survive the season with both your ornaments and your sanity intact.
