A beautiful poodle named Ivy was shared last month. We are working to try to help dad find a forever home for his sweet 9 year old girl before he leaves for Thailand. She is 9 years young, she was loved but her mom passed away. She is good with small dogs and humans of all ages.

Had a great time at the Grooming Show! My girl Yvaine and I competed in the Poodle class. We did not place but were given a very good critique! Also I managed to finish the trim in the very short time of the 2 hrs I had to complete it. 😅 🐩

I will be back in the salon tomorrow!

Did you know ? ..It is just as important to get your short haired dogs groomed as it is the long haired ones. Just ask this guy! ☺️. He sure is feeling great after getting all his loose and dead hair blown and brushed out. As well as his nails clipped and filed, now he is ready for the weekend!!

Had a wonderful weekend at the Dog Show in Chesaning this past weekend. We showed both of our girls, Maeve and Yvaine. My Husband and Yvaine did very well in their first AKC show together. Yvaine was awarded 1st in her class on both days and an owner handled group 3 on Sunday. Maeve received 2nd place in her class both days! Super proud of these girls.

Nail care for your pup is extremely important to their physical health.
Here are three pictures of my girl Maeve’s foot for a visual.

#1. Untrimmed, over long nails touching the ground cause them to stand on and position legs/ feet incorrectly, having discomfort or pain and difficulty in their movement. Think of your toe nails being to long in your shoes , that is pretty uncomfortable..

#2. Nails are trimmed with nail trimmers only

#3. Nails are shortened more, rounded and filed with a Dremel.

I Recommend to have nail trimmings done no longer than 6 weeks apart or up to as often as you are able.
Typically I do my personal dogs every week sometimes more. ☺️

Remember It is so important to start your puppies off early with anything you want to do with them. Especially grooming, the earlier the better to get them accustomed to the whole process. This helps grooming become a normal part of their lives and not something to be anxious or scared of.
