Now is the time to start preparing for the fireworks (and thunderstorms!).

If you know your pet stresses out during fireworks and storms, please give us a call for medication refills or to discuss options for medication.

Tips for keeping them safe and comfortable:

Keep them home and indoors. Offer a safe comfortable spot for them to relax. If they are kenneled, you can add extra blankets and pillows around the crate to muffle noise. Get them used to their "chill spot" now. Turning on a tv or radio in the area may also help. Offer an enrichment activity (kong toy filled with peanut butter, or hiding tasty treats for dogs/cats to search out).

Make sure your pet is microchipped and has ID tags. More pets go missing over the 4th of July holiday than any other time of year. Microchips and ID's help to get them home faster.

Make sure fences and gates are secure. Even a pet that has shown no previous signs of stress may become startled, run and become lost.

Keep fireworks, matches, lighter fluid, human food and alcohol away from all pets.

The office will be closed so staff can enjoy the 4th with family. We will be back in the office for normal hours on Friday, July 5th. If you require emergency care please call Emergency Veterinary Care Centers here in Holland at 616-344-5600, they will be open 24 hours on July 4th.

Best friends forever 🐾 Thank you Headin' Home Pet Rescue, Inc. for making dreams come true🥰

The saying “man’s best friend” is exactly what Howie is to his new Dad, Drake!

As you can see from the photo, they are the best of friends! He is so loved already. They just moved in to a home with a big fenced in yard for Howie to enjoy. They are going to have so many fun life adventures ahead. 🤎

Howie is the last of the Hockey Litter puppies to be adopted. We are so happy for him, and excited we will be able to see him grow up as Angi and Dan’s son adopted him-So Dr. Dan will be Howie’s vet! 🙌🏼

Now it’s Momma Maya’s turn!!!

A litter of puppies and Mom is lot of work, but we are so grateful for the Passeno’s, supporters, volunteers, Mapleview’s Staff and adopters who made it possible. Thank you!

Yay Bruin! We look forward to caring for you and watching you grow! 🖤🐾

Our sweet boy Bruin was adopted! We are so excited for this sweet boy and his new mom! He will be so spoiled 🩵🐾. And she said she is going to keep his care at Mapleview Animal Hospital so we are so excited to watch him grow up and continue to see him 🥰. Congratulations Bruin!

Thank you to the Passeno family for fostering these sweet babies and to all the amazing volunteers who have been helping us over the past few weeks take care of all of them! 🐾
