Headin' Home Pet Rescue, Inc. Headin' Home Pet Rescue was founded in 2008 by Dr. Jim Bader and Merri Van D**e.

We have placed numerous animals (dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs) in new homes and our mission is to provide the best care to our animals during their stay at the rescue and place them in a home dedicated to helping beyond their needs. In 2022, Emily Wolters and Kenzie Shannon followed their dream and continue to manage the rescue. Dogs are adopted out spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm

and tick disease tested if old enough, and current on all core vaccines. Cats are adopted out spayed/neutered, microchipped, FIV and FeLV tested, and current on all core vaccines.

Bashful is loving life in her new foster home! Don’t be fooled by this sweet girl’s name, this girl is not Bashful. She is so talkative, sweet, and very affectionate! This girl loves to be by people! She is almost 9 years old. She just had a dental cleaning so she has some clean pearly whites to meet her new family! 🦷. Her foster mom agrees she is so sweet and loves to purr as she reads her books. 📚

Nala now Zuli found her fur-ever home with one of our board members and her family. Another successful foster fail! They were just gonna foster her but Zuli had other plans. I think it was love at first sight for her New Mom and her.🤎

We can’t thank her foster now furever family for fostering/ adopting this sweet girl. She blended in so well with their resident cat and Hospice pup Clove that it was like she had been there all along. Zuli is such a smart girl, and we are looking forward to watching her grow. 🐾

Happy Adoption day to our happy, playful, and sweet boy Churro! This little pumpkin has found such a loving home with some incredible humans, and he has another cat friend who will be his new brother, named Mango! 🥭

We have had such a good holiday week of adoptions and we are so happy to end it with this adoption. 🎉. Congratulations sweet boy, we are so happy for you!

Cass and Floof, now Remy & Rogue found their fur-ever home together this week! 😍

We are so happy for them! All Emily was hoping for this Christmas was for them to get to stay together in an amazing home and that’s exactly what happened! 💗

Here is what their new Mom had to say “I wanted to update you, well unfortunately they will NOT be coming back because we are INLOVE! Pepper is adjusting as we expected, wants them to play and is barking at them in excitement but we have got them their own areas to get away from her lol. Gwen well she can’t even be bothered if it doesn’t pertain to a treat. We named them Rogue and Remy, Remy is my personal purr box and Rogue, well she’s been Rogue. I will have pictures soon, our world was a little chaotic yesterday but everyone will adjust just fine. Thank you again. Best Wishes,nThe Wilkerson Clan”

Since we are on the trend of happy things happening today…

We thought we’d share that rottie boys are doing so much better, their X-rays of their lungs today were looking better! (They had a very nasty upper respiratory which we suspected turned to a pneumonia, it’s been a long few weeks) Just a few more days of meds, and then next it will be time for neuters and then next step fur-ever homes. 🙌

We love Brewer and Dunkin so much and are so happy they are back to healthy and happy pups. Thanks again to Dr. Andrea, Dr. Jill and Dr. Dan for your great care.

Also a BIG Thank you to my parents Scott and Lori, they have spoiled these boys with new treats and toys and my mom has helped me almost everyday (twice a day even) and my dad has joined many times too, to care for these boys. 🖤🤎

It’s Giving Tuesday! We first want to say thank YOU! Without the continued support financially and your support sharing Facebook posts, sending items and telling others about Headin’ Home we couldn’t do it without each of you! We know that times are tough and we are grateful for all the generosity throughout this year. With your help we have helped 72 animals just this year alone! We have a large insurance renewal bill coming due, ($2,237.23 to be exact) which will almost empty out fund entirely, along with more medical bills. So our goal is to raise that much so the remaining funds we have can be used to continue care for our current friends. Floof is getting in the holiday spirit! (thanks Tracy M for this super fun toy!) 😻 He is hoping that by getting in the holiday spirit he will find himself a fur-ever home! 🎄💚 We suspect he is about 10-11 weeks old, he is using his outer box well. He has another kitten in his foster home and he seems to really enjoy her company. He is also starting to get more comfortable with the dogs in his foster home. Foxy went back to visit her friend Cleopatra this past week. She just doesn’t understand how Cleopatra hasn’t found her fur-ever family?! My dog Foxy who I joke is part cat really likes cats. (We don’t even have cats at home.) But last night when I was outside the cat room door with her, Cleopatra kept putting her paws under the door to play. So I decided to let Foxy meet her and see how Cleopatra would do… Well it’s safe to say that sweet Cleo doesn’t mind dog friends one bit and actually wanted Foxy to play with her. Despite what Foxy thinks, we can’t have a cat at home. But someone really needs to add this girl to their house. She is just the sweetest girl!
