Some days on the Ranch are more difficult than others. Today we found our favorite feathery boy, Hamilton, had passed away unexpectedly. Hamilton had more personality and zest than any bird we've ever met. He gave the best hugs/snuggles and was a farm-favorite. Aflicka (his mate) is mourning his loss right along with us and it is so difficult to watch her process this. Birds are such emotional creatures. We will be getting more feathery friends for Aflicka shortly to help her through the grieving process. Rest in paradise sweet boy, you're already missed 🥺🦆

🐎 Boarding Opportunity 🐎

Ten Point Ranch is a 35 acre slice of heaven nestled in the heart of Hollister, NC. We pride ourselves on being a small, quiet and family oriented facility that caters to you and your horse's individual needs.

We currently have 1-2 spots available for pasture board.

Our facility features several lush pastures with run-ins, a large outdoor arena, on-site bridle paths/trails, boarder bathroom, boarder tack room, hot water wash bay, matted stalls, stall fans, large paddocks, trailer parking, owners on-site and more!
We are located 5 minutes from Medoc Mountain State Park which provides an incredible opportunity to have easy access to off-site riding as well. (Only 30 minutes to Roanoke Rapids, Rocky Mount and Louisburg as well!)

Board includes: 2x a day feeding (Grain is provided year round - Hay provided during off-season and with stall board), Fly Spray Application, Blanketing, Holding for Farrier/Vet, Medication Administration (where applicable) and daily Turnout (with stall board).

We are looking for an evening feeder in trade for a riding lease 🥰 🐎

Position Details:
•Able to do PM feedings at least 5 days a week for 15+ horses (time is flexible, we don't like to keep our horses waiting on us hand and foot for food. Anywhere from 4pm-8pm) All horses except for 2 are fed in pastures. You will have access to our Ranch truck to bring feed around. Days are flexible, you will not be asked to work holidays and weekends are not required.
•Top off Water troughs.
•Check horses for injuries.
•Communicate Schedule with Ranch Owners.

Lease Details:
•Ability to ride one of three horses on-site up to 3x a week.
•Option to trailer out to trails when able with Ranch owners for off-site trail riding (we are 8 minutes from Medoc Mountain State Park and regularly frequent there.
•Tack provided.
•On-Site bridle paths, round pen and arena with poles, jumps and barrels. (Actively working to bring in sand and set up lights for these hot summer nights)
•Barn bathroom and very quiet/private setting. Owners live on-site. We strive for a friendly, accepting, educating and fun setting.
•Option to take lessons/coaching sessions with trade for extra work (trough cleaning, bucket cleaning, mucking stalls, mowing, etc...)

Position Requirements:
•Must have reliable transportation and prefer valid drivers license.
•Must have at least beginner level riding skills/horsemanship skills. In-person interviews will test this to verify abilities.
•Be comfortable with a variety of horses and have basic handling knowledge.
•We prefer someone over 16 years of age (for truck use) but are willing to work with the right individual.
•Must have good communication skills, a love of horses and want to have fun!

We have been SO proud of how well Sapphira has been coming along! Only 3 weeks under saddle, and she's already gone off-site to shows, sortings, cattle pushing, and trail rides 🥰 We had to bring along the other golden boy for moral support, of course. We've been extra busy this last weekend due to some unexpected family matters and want to thank everyone for being so understanding and working with us. We also never thought we'd be buying rounds bales in JULY for our pastures. We need that rain to keep on coming! Milkshake, however, has offered zero complaints about the round bales in the shade 😎🐂

Duncan is a handsome 7 year old QH/Draft cross that stands at 15.3hh, is built like an absolute tank and looking for his new trail partner. He has all the fancy buttons like hip control, side passing, shoulder control and can collect up nicely at the WTC. He has a great big stop from the lope and He is great on the trails. Duncan is very willing if he comes across something new and is not overly spooky at anything. He has a very sweet puppy-dog personality, loves attention and getting scratches. We have put Duncan on cows and he loved every minute of it. He will ride out alone or in a group but does prefer to ride with others. He is able to branch off from a group with a little bit of encouragement. We would recommend a more experienced and confident rider for Duncan. He has already come so far with his tune-up with us and we firmly believe with consistency in riding, he will continue to do amazing.
