For Ferals' Sake was founded in July of last year. We got the 501(c)3 status in October 2023. We believe that feral cats, community cats, need allies. We are those allies.
We trap weekly when we have appointments available, monthly for SNIP, and finagle and hustle in between, fostering 21 cats and kittens, trying to have a social media presence, network with other rescues, field calls from ALL kinds of people with urgent situations, keep track and respond to donors, take pictures of cats, and socializing sassy kittens.
We are also attending city council meetings and the animal shelter ad hoc meetings, lobbying for a spay/neuter ordinance and funding for these ferals, and we have done so each year since SNIP started coming here.
We love every minute.(almost😂) But we are a fierce few, three people, involved in the day to day. THREE PEOPLE. Pretty frickin amazing if you ask me. We need help. If you can donate any time to do any of the above mentioned tasks, we would be so grateful. Helping cats is definitely our mission and the need is SO GREAT. Greater than any other time in history. If you'd like to give back but you're not a "joiner", hit us up. We need new ideas, fresh perspectives and good backs!!! And there's NO MICROMANAGEMENT 😆

What a difference a little ✨TLC✨ can make!

Koda and Anya came into our care in May. They were very sick and needed immediate medical attention. Thanks to veterinary staff, they gave shelter staff the tools to get little Koda and Anya on the road to recovery. They are now healthy and thriving, and ready for some furever homes! 🐱❤️🐾

Happy Saturday!! First I would like to thank all who have donated to our "Stand Against Animal Cruelty" funds drive to care for the kitties from the alleged rescue that shall not be named. We are so very grateful to the community members that realize how important this TNR business is, especially in that area!!!
It has been a difficult year so far, so many commuity cats needing humane euthanasia. The toll that takes is heavy but we really feel like they should ALL be treated with respect and dignity, at all times.
So, in an effort to lighten the day, here are some pics of our first
"foster to adopt" pair from the floral litter!!! These adorable little furballs took to their new home with a gusto only kittens possess!!
We have more adoptable kittens, kitTEENS, and Toby just turned one in our care. Please check out our adoptable babies!!!!

"Is the kitten I found a male or female?" We get this question all the time.

This is a great diagram to help you correctly differentiate male from female.

Determining the s*x is more difficult when dealing with a neutered male cat or kittens who don’t have obvious man parts yet.

Also a cat's coloring is a way to determine s*x but that is not the most reliable way. What we do know is that 99.9% of calicos and torties are female.

TAKE A STAND WITH US ON THIS TNR TUESDAY!!!!!!!
Hi Everyone!! One of our most generous supporters donated some really cool pins which commemorate abused/neglected animals and show that you STAND AGAINST ANIMAL CRUELTY. These pins will be used to generate donations for the three cats we have in our care, trapped next door to the Petapalooza property.
Benecio El Toro, trapped immediately following the raid in March, was determined to be friendly, not feral, and he is enjoying his recovery from severe neglect( dr's words, not mine) in a wonderful foster home with a menagerie of other animals to get aquainted with and finally allowing pets while not inside the crate!! Huge leaps and bounds for this cat who came to us, despondent and not interactive at all to the love bug he is blooming into. Benicio required a partial dental extraction for a broken canine. He was fixed and vaccinated as well.
Toby was the next one trapped, one month after the raid. He appeared at the neighbor's feeding station and was immediately known he was not a regular. His back end was completely bald, he had coccidia and a URI. We are STILL struggling to get his digestive system under control and his bedding needs to be changed daily as a result, poor guy. The parasite is gone but the symptoms are harder to resolve He is also on a special diet that costs about 80 dollars every two weeks until the diarrhea resolves. And although given to the alleged rescuers as a kitten, he is very shy and is finally starting to trust. He was fixed already and his microchip was traced back to Petapalooza.
Finally, we have Lorelei. She appeared at the neighbor feeding station suddenly, emaciated, with a huge half healed abcess on her neck which caused skin to be hanging off of her. Walked right into a trap, so hungry. Earlier in the day, the neighbor noticed windows open next door and then this cat in terreible shape shows up. I know there isnt proof but I feel as though this poor kitty was somehow trapped in that house all this time. After the vet visit, her body score was a 4/9. Terrible. But she also is not feral and is now showing her belly and asking for pets.
For us, we feel these babies need extra love and consideration for all that they have endured in their short lives. None of the cats are over 2 years old.

The cashier at the grocery store asked me what plans I had for the holiday weekend. I said "taking care of and feeding street cats, like I do everyday". Her answer, " well somebody has to do it"!!!
