Hi everyone! 👋 We would like to put a spotlight on our beautiful crested gecko. This little guy is super stunning and has a sweet personality. He is a male dalmation morph, about a year old, and is eager to be adopted! Crested geckos make great companions and are very tolerable of handling with a little patience and practice. FYI

Due to a potential parvovirus exposure from a stray puppy, and more recently, a case of panleukopenia in a stray kitten, the Hollister Animal Shelter will be closed for stray intakes and owner surrendered animals for a tentative two week period.

Shelter animals will continue to be monitored and evaluated daily, as we are now observing a quarantine period for animals who may have been exposed. Staff is also undertaking additional sanitation and cleaning measures to ensure the health and safety of shelter animals. Once the quarantine period has been met and our animals have been cleared, they will be made available for adoption and we will resume normal operations.

All stray and surrendered animals are appropriately vaccinated at intake, however it is important for each pet owner to ensure puppies and kittens, and even adult pets receive age appropriate vaccinations on a veterinary approved vaccination schedule to ensure the future health and safety of your pet(s) and those around them. We appreciate your support and patience as we work through this process.
