My second addition also comes from California; meet Moonshine-Ridge SV Hollyhock!

I was able to see part of the Moonshine-Ridge herd at the 2015 ADGA National show in Oregon; upstanding, level, feminine and uniform in appearance described the animals I saw in Shirley's herd.

The Moonshine-Ridge sires that Barbara of Quixote incorporated into her herd made chosing a junior herdsire from here an obvious choice; however C19 hit and it took a back burner as outside life priorities took over.

When Shirley sent me a photo of Holly's dam Sunflower I was beyond impressed as she is one of the most balanced does I have seen in a very long time. When Shirley offered me a daughter it was a pretty easy decision! This doe will incorporate Rhone Ranger back into the herd at a higher inbreeding which we love.

While I was worried about transporting an animal over two thousand miles in the month of December, our mild winter has made it a very easy transition for Holly.

I am so, so touched by Shirley's decision to share this lovely young doe and I look forward to making her proud with her! She will be bred on her next heat for late May kids. I love having a chamoisee again!

I am beyond thrilled to announce some new additions to the farm!

Most who follow the LaMancha breed as well as my animals are aware of the impact the Quixote herd has had.
I was blessed with Barbara's friendship late in her life and a pair of Quixote herdsires soon joined the herd in 2016. However there was a particular doe kid born in 2014 on my birthday that Barbara named after me; she was a roan and evidently a bit of an obnoxious kid so was quickly offered to me.

Transport issues and timing made it so she never left the state and was subsequently sold and put to work at a dairy on the coast. I had followed her whereabouts over the years and when I found out she was once again available I scrambled for ways to ensure her safety.

Peggy of Coastside LaMancha fame came to the rescue and from there, dear friends far and near joined in the journey to help me with this little sliver of Barbara's living legacy.

I am happy to announce that Quixote M'Erly made it here to Minnesota in August and has settled in pretty well; she has been bred and is doing well, living in our garage for the winter where she greets us every morning.

This hard working gal, Auraria Hot Shibazakura is confirmed bred via BioPryn yet again to Dream-Fire R Extreme Warlock. This cross produced some lovely kids last time so I'm excited to see more. Additional photo is the doe kid result.

Auraria Hot Shakshuka pictured today, decided to remain dry as a yearling. Sometimes they don't like the bucks we choose. She isn't registered yet but she is an AI result from late herdsire Quixote Hiraeth.

Happy belated New Year 2023.
Thank you to all our friends and patrons in the prior.
We have been hit by snow storm after snow storm the past three weeks - one a week. But as usual the goats are doing well.
All of the necessary LaManchas are bred with one late at the end of December for a FF yearling.

We are happily day twenty-seven post AI for Baza bred to Warlock. My only AI for the LMs this year; Warlock has an 88.2 dau/av so any gender of kid(s) will be welcomed.
