đ´Wyattâs first BEMER session with Equinetics Sport Horse Bodywork! Do you think heâs enjoying it? đ
â¨Harley getting some much needed R&R on a rainy dayâ¨
â¨Benefits in actionâ¨The plain and simpleâŚit makes a horse feel GOOD! đIâve mentioned in previous posts that BEMER helps the horse to enter a restful state. More specifically it activates their parasympathetic nervous system, the rest and digest part of the nervous system (as opposed to fight or flight). This occurs because the nutrient exchange at the cellular level becomes easier due to the increased blood flow facilitated by the PEMF (pulsed electro-magnetic field) of the BEMER blanket and cuffs. The body is naturally doing what it would be doing anyways more easilyâŚso itâs time for the horse to relax! đ¤ŞOn the other side, increased blood flow also helps to warm up the muscles prior to exercise! More oxygen is readily available for the muscles to make energy, meaning it is easier for them to expend energy more quickly. As stated earlierâŚit just makes them feel good!!
From the immaculately clean to the downright dirty and those that just wanna munchâŚEnjoying a beautiful, sunny, and warm New Years Eve Eve âď¸đą
Time for some enrichment! I have been trying to find new ways to stimulate Ventiâs brain lately while heâs healing. This has been his favorite game so far, followed by clicker training! I tucked some apple slices into a snuffle mat (yes, itâs meant for dogs) and let him get to work! Itâs simple, easy, and didnât cost me much at all! He kept going back to it waiting for more apples to magically appear đ
Can you spot the changes in the nervous system indicating a more relaxed state? Horses can be very subtle communicators so itâs important to pay attention to the smallest changes in their behavior to recognize what theyâre saying.
đ´ This was my first time working with this mare at Brinnwood Farm and she was a little skeptical of me at first. Her head was high, ears slightly back, and her eyes were tented indicating an excited state of her nervous system. I spent time brushing her and lightly petting her so she could get to know me before we started our BEMER session. 10 minutes into it, her behavior was completely changed!
â¨BEMER doesnât do anything magical; it makes the natural processes of the body, specifically blood flow, more efficient allowing for a more relaxed nervous system.

Have you been wondering what the first BEMER session looks like? Look no further!
đ´This is Quinn, a 3 year old TB, at Brinnwood Farm undergoing his first BEMER session. The first session looks consistent from horse to horse while they get familiar with the equipment and the PEMF signal. I always turn on the equipment and let them sniff it prior to placing it on their body. This way they get a sense of the signal before it ever touches them. Here you can see that Quinn accepts the new blanket and cuffs right away!
âď¸After the first treatment, I vary the the placement of the cuffs and /or the PEMF signal duration and intensity levels to meet the horseâs and ownerâs needs. In Quinnâs future sessions, we will focus more on his front carpal and digital tendons to help maintain healthy tissue!
