Dogs Without Borders is a 501c3 non-profit, small dog rescue that saves homeless & abandoned dogs from high-kill shelters in the Los Angeles area, and find them permanent and loving homes. We require an adoption application and a home-check. Our adoption fees are listed on our website. All dogs are spayed/ neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped prior to adoption, and come with a DWB ID tag.

Yumi is a gentle, loving spirit who was surrendered by a family who could no longer care for her. We think she has spent all of her life until now indoors. She is her foster human’s shadow and adores cuddles and affection. She also gets along beautifully with her foster sibling (dog). Yumi is still learning her basic skills like potty training and leash manners. She is gaining confidence during her times outside but will do best in a home with a patient and loving person who will help continue to build her confidence in the world around her.

Well, here at Dogs Without Borders, we believe that ALL animals deserve a chance at forever happiness. 🐶 Adoption Needed 🐶

Gentle Eggnog needs a forever home! 5 yrs, 15 lbs. Housetrained. No young kids due to his shy nature. Eggnog is very, very shy and fearful of new people and environments, but when he comes out of his shell he is very sweet, absolutely loves pets, and is very gentle. He loves to just curl up next to his foster and does well with other dogs in the home as well. It does take about a week for him to open up and trust. He has recently learned how to walk on a leash, but it is still very new for him. He is potty trained and sleeps in his crate like a good boy. Eggnog has a very sweet, curious, and loving disposition, it just takes him a while to get comfortable and trust-building is essential. He does not bark and just needs someone with love and patience to promise to keep him forever.

❤️ Adoption Needed ❤️

Scotch is looking for his forever home! Scotch comes to us from the Pasadena shelter where he arrived during the recent fires in the LA area.
We couldn’t let him stay and swooped in to save him. He is still acclimating to a home life out of the shelter but has an open mind and a positive attitude. He is so affectionate and sweet once he opens up! It will take some patience to allow him to warm up to new situations, but he adapts pretty quickly. He is extremely playful with his foster sibling (a small dachshund dog) and very loving and affectionate with his foster parents. He is still learning his basic obedience manners and potty training.
We are so lucky to have been able to save this special guy.

Nugget is a New dog coming this week and we are looking for a foster with another dog or a foster that works from home as he has some separation anxiety! This friendly boy is just a sweetheart, people will fall in love with him at first sight. He’s great on leash and loves walks. He’s dog and people friendly and potty trained. He would love another calm dog in the house, so he can learn the ropes. The quicker we can find a foster home for him the quicker we can get back to rescuing other dogs in this situation!!

Beautiful Khaleesi is looking for a foster by 2/6( or forever home)! Khaleesi is a beautiful Havanese looking girl with soulful eyes and a playful spirit. She gave birth at the shelter and was a wonderful mother to her puppies. Her puppies have all found their way to forever homes and now it is her turn to be a princess! She is affectionate, loving, and an all around stunner. She is good with her foster siblings (dogs) and, although shy at first, warms up quickly and loves to be pet and adored. ♥️ Fosters Needed ♥️

Apache and Gramps are new owner surrenders that will be joining the DWB pack. The owners sadly passed away and we were asked to help.
They were dropped off at Mar Vista Animal Hospital over the weekend and we are getting them the medical care they need! They are both getting fixed and vaccinated and they are looking for fosters that can pick them up on Wednesday from Mar Vista or from our Woodland Hills office.
They can be split up or go together, if they are split they are looking for fosters with another dog. They are 2 yrs old, chihuahua mixes, both males names are Gramps and Apache, under 15 lbs.

URGENT FOSTER NEEDED!!
Beatrice is returning to our foster pack and needs a foster ASAP!
She is good...great even... in the home with other dogs. people, and even kids BUT is leash and cage reactive and needs a confident foster who can work with her on this.
Beatrice loves to cuddle, is eager to please, and ready to learn. She sure loves a good nap! She sheds very little and is excited to find her forever family. She enjoys playing with toys and is not a chewer. Beatrice is fully crate trained and potty trained!

Sweet Marble needs an adopter! 😻 Yes, sometimes we just can't help ourselves and rescue a "NOT A DOG"!

Marble is great with cats and small dogs. It does take her a few days to warm up but then she plays with them all day long. She LOVES kids. She is a blue eyed beauty looking for her furrever home.🏡🥰 Litter box trained

A few months ago, we took in a little Chihuahua named Couscous who was about to be put down at the harbor shelter. She’d bitten her owner and had nowhere else to go. 😩😭
We couldn’t let her be euthanized, so we rushed to get her out.

She’s had her struggles, especially with aggression, but we’ve been working with her and learning her triggers.

Sadly, we recently discovered that Couscous has large masses below her rib cage in her mammary area. After seeing the vet, it turns out she needs emergency surgery this Monday to figure out if it’s cancer or something else. The surgery is critical, and we’re doing everything we can to raise the funds for it.

I know times are tough for everyone, but if you’re able to donate to her medical costs, we would be so grateful. She’s been through so much already, and we’re just trying to give her the chance she deserves.🙏

Not ready to adopt but have much love to share? Lucky you, Sunmi is looking for a foster home!

Sunmi is a sweet and gentle dog who starts off shy but warms up within a day or two. She gets along well with other dogs, minds her business unless they want to play with her. She loves napping and is very calm in the house but it's clear that she likes exercise. She will make a loyal adventure companion (but also a couch potato🥔).

Although she loves walking, putting the leash on makes her a bit nervous. She's a decent walker but does pull a little bit. She is a bit triggered when pulled in a direction too quickly, so just call her name with a gentle tug. She is looking for a calm environment with another dog! A quiet adult only household and hopefully a yard would be ideal. She gets scared in busy neighborhoods so ideally somewhere outside of the city life would be great!

*Side note- Need to be extra careful when opening the front door as she can be a flight risk and run.

Georgia is 2-3 years old and about 18 lbs (losing weight). She is looking for an adult only household with no other animals. She gets extremely bonded to her human and would love someone who is home (works from home, not leaving often). 🙃 She has moved around and had her world turned around and needs someone consistent who will work with her to overcome her fear of being left. Best friend alert‼️ Gentle Vera is STILL waiting for her forever home💓🏡

Vera is a sweet, affectionate, loyal and loving girl who ADORES her person and just wants to be loved back. She is 6-7 yrs, 24 lbs.

She loves cuddles, hugs, and rubs more than anything else in the world (although meals and snacks are a close second!) She is very gentle with humans. We do not know what kinds of trauma she endured in Korea, but she emerged from her hardships with a brave and resilient spirit and still wants to trust and love the humans that she meets.🥰❤️‍🩹

She can be a bit timid at first, and it is important to go slow with her, but she has a very sweet disposition and should be able to warm up to most people pretty quickly. Vera is working on basic command training, but she does want to please and is responding well to learning new commands. She does best in a home with submissive/very calm animals (or as the only princess) and female energy. Vera has been a very good girl with handling - teeth brushing, baths, nail clippings, being carried around, you name it and she will endure it graciously. She is also a very polite and dignified girl when she wants to come inside from the backyard - no scratching or barking at the door, etc. She is housebroken, crate trained, gentle, and aching for someone to love her forever. Won't someone stop and take a second look at Vera?👀🤩

Meet Ben, our new rescue! He needs a 🐾🥰

Sadly, his owners surrendered him to the busy Pasadena shelter yesterday because they didn’t have time to care for him and they were moving. We couldn’t let this sweet 9 yr old boy be stuck at the scary shelter. We took him straight to the groomer to get some much need TLC and now he is looking for a foster that can give him love and take him to our vet in Highland Park for a dental.

He is dog friendly, super sweet, neutered and fully vaccinated and only 6.5 lbs! He would love someone who is home often or works from home as he loves to cuddle or be close by! Fostering is free and all supplies are included! Pick up from Tarzana today!

Petunia is still looking for her forever home! 🏡💓

Meet the beautiful blossom Petunia! She is 5 yrs, 17 lbs. This sweet girl is affectionate, loving and smart! She loves the company of her people, napping, gentle walks, and living that frenchie life!

She is working on her potty training and other basic obedience skills. Petunia has a slightly misaligned spine and right hip so would do best with an adopter who can help manage this long term. At this time she gets along beautifully. She would do best in a home with older kids given her mildly compromised back.

Bunker is available for adoption! ❣️🔊

Bunker is 10 months, 15 lbs. 🦁 This little lion has lots of puppy energy! He loves to play and is quick to learn commands with patience. He’s still in his teething puppy stage so he bites when playing (and needs an adopter who can redirect this) but is a very friendly and happy go lucky dude with people and dogs. He’s crate trained and sleeps in there with no problem. He loves going outside and wants to make friends with everyone. He would do best with an active adopter, another dog, or a yard to burn off all those zoomies!

The total package!! He's even more gorgeous in person.

We screen potential applicants to make sure the dog is right fit for their home. We require an adoption application and a home-check.
