🐾 EDIT 🐾 He got adopted to a family with another dog and two cats and is doing well! ❤️

If you're lonely and looking for a constant companion, Mickey is the guy for you! He will be your shadow and you will never feel lonely again! He's very, very good with other dogs! He will be your shadow.... Literally!!! He's an old guy, probably over 10 years old, that I saw on the Jefferson City Animal Shelter page, that had been overlooked at a couple of different adoption events and I felt compelled to foster him. He's looking for his forever home, preferably with someone retired or who works from home💕

Misc. Information: Emmy was brought to the shelter after being left behind. She appears to have not had the best life so far and more than likely was an outdoor dog from the looks of her. She seems to be super sweet but if terrified here at the shelter. Please go slow with her and do not corner her if she does not want to come to you.

Emmy is heartworm positive so will be FOSTER TO ADOPT ONLY while her goes through treatments.

EDIT****ADOPTED 😍

We have a new Foster dog named Mickey! I saw him on a post from the Jefferson City animal shelter and he had been at two different adoption events, so he's been at the shelter for at least a couple of months, and no one has adopted him!😢 He's over 10 years old and his canine teeth are completely worn off from chewing on who knows what in his past. He walks a little stiff, but he's still a little bit playful and doesn't seem to have any aches or pains. He does really well with the other dogs and is very sweet and pretty clingy. He cannot go in a kennel, because I tried it a couple of times and he bloodied his gums trying to chew out. I think he's going to need an adopter that is retired or works from home, because he seems to have some separation anxiety. He is housebroken, however when I have shut him into my living room area a couple different times, for a couple of hours, he does have a p*e accident, but I think he just gets himself so worried, that he can't help it. ***She went to Second Chance and was doing well with another cat in her foster home!!😻

We've had a couple cats dumped on us this winter and one found a home and we still have the second one and she is very sweet and is doing very well living in the man cave / spare bedroom! I don't know how she'll do with other cats or relaxed dogs, because our dogs are high prey drive and one is a puppy so we have not attempted introductions. We have named her Mokie and you can contact me or Fulton's Forgotten Furry Friends She is spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper and ear tipped.

The shelter contacted me on Monday, this dog that had come in was in desperate need of grooming! That's an understatement! I was able to go groom him on Tuesday afternoon. Those wads hanging off of him were filled with urine and stool and we had to pull wads of stool out of the pads of his feet before I could even start to clip the hair 😢😩 The doodle/poodle dogs always get adopted pretty quickly, and he's already been adopted! This dog was an owner surrender and it's hard for me to stomach anyone letting their dog get like this and I'm so thankful he has found a new home!
