Poor little guys are ready for spring. I opened the gate to the pasture and they thought they would get go out. They still have several months to wait. They might plot to kill me now.

04/11/2014

It finally feels like spring. We started shearing today. Poor babies were hot under all the fleece.

Alpacas are loving the snow. Can't bet a cooler day with all that fleece. Unknown to them it's all coming off in about 3 weeks.

Karma is our friend today. Taylor and I vaccinated the whole herd and did chores in 45 min. We were so fast our four legged friends didn't see it coming. We even had volunteers. They thought they were going through the gate but instead they got a shot.

You know the weather is warming up when the alpacas are looking over the fence and dreaming of the days when they can run, roll, and get fresh grass all morning long.

Took the blankets off some our alpacas this morning. Kind of weird looking out the window and not seeing Cyn in her bright yellow blanket.

We had a lot of snow yesterday. Taylor let Armageddon out in the pasture to play in the snow. It was so funny to watch him run as fast as his little leg would go.

I can't believe it is time to think about shearing in 3 to 4 months. Where did the time go?

Like father like son. They both are about the same. Check out Cato's sire, Wild Heart.

Taylor was able to get this really great picture of Cato.

Thought we were going to have a baby this morning. What a fake out. She went to the p**p pile, did none thing. Laid in the corner of the pen, tail up and moving around. Spitting off anyone that came near. I decide to go ahead and put hay out to keep the others away. She decide to come and eat. Come on Belinda, let's have that baby now.

Our fuzzy little friends are happy the sun is shining today. Some of them were getting really grumpy and taking it out on us. Guess they didn't get the memo that we have none thing to do with Mother Nature. She has her own agenda.

09/06/2013

Why is it that we always put hay up on the hottest days of summer? Guess what we are doing tomorrow?

08/31/2013

The cats have the right idea for the heat. Sleep on top of the port-a-cools.

Armageddon, our newest addition to our herd, is plan crazy. He doesn't care if it hot. Anytime is a good time to run and do turns in the air.

08/29/2013

You know it hot when all the alpacas are grouchy. Cato spit into Taylors' hand, Sam spit at my back when I was talking to her baby and Cynnamon, well she just is grouchy at her old age.

08/25/2013

This little guys is already causing trouble. He knows which alpacas don't care for him and uses it to his advantage. Following them around. He is going to get himself in trouble. His poor mother is having a heart attack trying to keep track of him.
