June is National Microchip Month! If your pet isn't already chipped your vet can do it, or you can get low cost microchipping done at your local shelter for between $15-$30. And if your pet IS microchipped, it's time to check that the chip is updated with your current information. Please take this little step to make sure that your sweet pets are safe! ❤️🐾

🐾🐾 Dog of the Week!! 🐾🐾
We are going to try a post for baby Bass again.
The last time he was Dog of the Week, we had ZERO interest! Usually puppies are the first to go. We don't know, maybe Bass isn't pretty enough, or doesn't have special colors. But I will tell you, what he lacks in pretty colors he more than makes up for in personality! This wild child is extremely dog and human friendly. He LOVES playtime with his canine companions but wants to be on the couch snuggling just as much. He still has alot of puppy energy at 4 months old, and is not completely house trained. He is very treat motivated and would be a fast study at training.
Bass has one of those temperaments that is going to make him perfect for literally almost any lifestyle. He adjusts to new situations and places well and is not too shy or scared. He loves toys and tries to "eat" water from the water hose. We think he will probably be an awesome water dog.
Bass is neutered, chipped, and just waiting on his last set of vaccines. He is ready for his furever family and is waiting to be that perfect sidekick for someone!

We did it AGAIN!! Yesterday our incredible rescue team sent up a huge transport of 49 cats and kittens and 2 puppies, all directly to their loving pre-approved adopters in the New England area!! All of these sweet babies went up to live the most beautiful lives after being rescued from various terrible situations, whether found alone and scared, or discarded by awful humans like trash, or born into the streets as a result of irresponsible owners who fail to spay or neuter their pets. All of these reasons together create this endless overpopulation problem we're dealing with in Florida. But no matter what their beginnings, our incredible volunteers have once again opened their hearts and homes, and raised these beautiful babies with love and the most meticulous care, sending them up only after they've been fully vetted, tested negative for FIV/FELV, dewormed, fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped. All after adoptions coordinators have spent endless hours doing facetime interviews to match these babies up with their perfect adopters. We believe that all of our rescue pets deserve the very best families where they will be treasured for the rest of their lives so with our endless commitment to rescue, we make this happen. Once again we celebrate another successful transport in which our babies travel in style with our transporters Katz N Dawgs Helping Hands, Inc.
All of us at This is the Dog! have poured our hearts and souls into this labor of love, following our passion to make a difference and change the lives of these sweet babies and the thousands of other animals we've rescued over our 17 years in existence. In addition, we've dedicated ourselves to ending the overpopulation problem by continuing to offer free spay/neuter to anyone at anytime in the community. The crisis is real. Many people notice it. Many people comment about it. But we ACT to make a change and end it. Be part of the solution. Join us as a volunteer, foster, adopter, veterinary partner, donor or in any way you can.
