We have received quite a few inquiries for Lowrider now known as Waffles. He is receiving treatment for Ringworm and then will be scheduled for Neuter. We appreciate the interest, and will be looking at applications next week. As cute as he is, he is the ideal spokesdog for unethical and irresponsible breeding. He is barely 6 inches above the ground. Watching him walk is heartbreaking. His front legs are so bowed, it looks painful. He is the result of selfish, human actions: a canine Frankenstein. Please be an advocate against irresponsible breeding. These dogs are not meant to be. Thank you.

🚨 ATTENTION 🚨
We are urgently searching for families willing to consider a Foster-to-Adopt placement for two of our newest intakes: Buddy Blue and Captain.
Both of these sweet boys were dumped on the side of the road by their own families, left standing there as they watched the only people they knew drive away. One of our volunteers witnessed Buddy Blue being abandoned. Captain was found just yesterday — left with his harness, leash, bowls, blankets, and food scattered in a field.
Because of the trauma they’ve already endured, we do not want them lingering in temporary foster homes. Once they begin to feel safe and loved, another move could make them feel abandoned all over again. These boys deserve stability, healing, and the chance to bond with the people who may become their forever family.
✨ All vetting is covered by the rescue!
That includes neuter, vaccines, deworming, microchip, and heartworm testing — all at no cost to you.
🐶 Buddy Blue – A young, active sweetheart with the most loving spirit.
🐾 Captain – An older gentleman who is incredibly gentle, sweet, and so far dog-friendly.
If you’re interested in opening your home to one of these boys under a no-strings-attached Foster-to-Adopt arrangement, please comment below. If things don’t work out or they don’t acclimate well, they can return to their current foster. If you fall in love (and we know you might!), you can finalize adoption once their vetting is complete.

No surprise anymore! Dog dumped on the side of the road, like an old couch. He was left with his collar, leash and blankets, but that doesn’t make this anywhere near humane. There are too many people in this area that treat animals really badly and we need you to help us change that. This is a people problem. The solution is education and prevention - spay and neuter. Ignorance and irresponsibility have the majority. If you care, please help us fight. Your voice is worth millions! Please  share this post with your county or city mayor and commissioners. If you don’t say anything, it never happened. Thank you. This Is The Dog! now has this dog in our care. We appreciate all donations.
