We are moving again!!! Monkeys are coming back soon!

We have received numerous questions regarding historic monkey island and the return of the monkeys. Yesterday there was an incorrect update regarding the timeframe of when the monkeys would return. The board was unaware and overwhelmed with the number of hurdles that would be involved. Before the monkeys can be returned to the island, approvals must be received from the Citrus County building department, FDEM, FWC, USDA, and the Army Corp of Engineers. We apologize for not providing updates as frequently as in the beginning, but our hands have been tied and we continue to wait for all the agencies to give their approvals. Rest assured, the monkeys will return as soon as we are given the green light.
