We're 3 weeks old! Everyone is doing amazing and growing right on track. Romeo is still the tiniest and now 2 lbs 11 oz and SweetPea and Valentine are still tied for the biggest at 3 lb 14 oz. This week we'll increase individual snuggle and human interaction time for each puppy which Lovey seemed to truly enjoy this morning! 🥰 This is one of the early steps in preventing seperation anxiety as the puppies grow. We'll also focus on different noises, sounds, music, and Startle Recovery Exercises. These little exercises done now will have such a positive impact on how these puppies face the outside world as they get older.

It appears that Kilo thinks he'd make a great Christmas tree. 😂 After removing the tree, Kilo hopped right in to take its place. Who needs a tree when you have a Poodle! 🤣

We're 2 weeks old! Everyone has opened their eyes and we will finish our ENS today. We are all growing and weigh between 2-3 pounds each. Romeo is the tiniest coming in at 2 lb 0.5 oz and SweetPea and Valentine tied for this largest this week weighing exactly 3 lbs. We're starting to toddle around and in about a week will start working on using the bathroom in our "potty spot."

We're 10 days old and growing like little weeds! We have all more than doubled our birth weight. We're trying really hard to move around more and will soon have our eyes and ears open and be walking! We still spend most of our days eating, sleeping, and getting lots of love! 🥰

These 2 babies graduated from intermediate obedience class tonight. Kilo is such an amazing boy and Kaylee has done nearly all his training herself. We are so proud of both of them! After the New Year they will take their CGC test and we have no doubt that they will pass with flying colors.

Watching a newborn puppy sleep might just be one of our favorite things! Especially when they're sleeping on their back like little Smoochie is here. 🥰

If you’ve spent much time watching puppies sleep, like we have, then you may have noticed them doing a little twitching. We love to see them twitching because interestingly the twitching is an indicator that they are healthy and growing pups.

This twitching actually has a name, it’s called Activated Sleep. It is caused by small electrical impulses sent from the puppy’s brain to stimulate their muscles. Because newborn puppies spend on average 22 hours per day sleeping, it would be difficult for them to build the muscle required to just stand. These impulses sent by their brain, to their muscles, stimulate and build their tiny muscles so that within just a few weeks they will be able to stand and walk. When we stop to think about it, it’s amazing how all the little details work together within such a tiny puppy, allowing them to grow into the amazing pups we love and adore!

We are so excited to introduce Zoey's Valentine's litter! Zoey delivered 9 perfect babies early yesterday morning. Zoey and all babies are doing great!

Kaylee has given them all Valentine's names since they will be ready to go home just in time to be someone's sweet little Valentine's! 💘

One thing we often see is people in social media groups asking why their doodle doesn’t have the long hair on the face and legs. That long hair which creates the dog’s beard, long eyebrows, and long hair on the legs is called Furnishings.

Different breeds have different breed standards and some are “expected” to have Furnishings while others are not. When talking about many of the common doodle breeds, the expectation is for them to have Furnishings. Those without Furnishings are considered per breed standards to have an improper coat. Furnishings not only have an impact on how the dog will look as an adult but also have an impact on how much they shed. Typically, not always, dogs with Furnishings have less shedding than those without Furnishings.

While most people prefer and expect their doodle puppy to grow up and have Furnishings, other people may prefer their dog to be unfurnished. Even though it’s called an Improper Coat to not have Furnishings, there is nothing wrong with an unfurnished doodle. They are just as healthy as the dog with furnishings and can make amazing pets also.

With today’s technology, a reputable breeder should be able to easily tell you if the puppy you are considering will have Furnishings. Furnishings are passed down genetically from parents to their offspring. Completing genetic testing on parents and thoughtful consideration when pairing parents allows the breeder to bring out the best traits from both parents. We carefully pick our parents to ensure they check all the boxes including temperament, health, and genetic traits to produce the best family pets and therapy prospects possible!

Ms. Zoey girl is on constant watch even when we have to leave the house for a bit. She's soaking up all the sleep she can while waiting for her babies to determine they are ready to make their arrival! Today is her due date but it appears her little ones just might not be quite ready yet. Waiting so patiently! 🥰
