Did you know that research suggests that when mother dogs receive love and attention during pregnancy there is a positive impact on her puppies in utero? It suggests their puppies will be delivered healthier, more well-adjusted, and with improved social skills. There's tons of research about hormones released in utero and the impact of those hormones on the fetus. Super cool to realize we can already be impacting these precious babies before they are even born! 😍

This is just one of the many reasons all of our parent dogs live in our home or in the home of our amazing guardian families! They are all spoiled rotten (as you can probably tell by pictures). Besides ensuring our mommas receive the best care and nutrition; we make sure our mommas get all the extra love, attention, and spoiling that any dog can ask for. 💞

We've been keeping a secret 🙊 and are so excited to share!! 🥰

Zoey & Kilo are expecting!!!

F1 Medium-sized Goldendoodles! (Estimate 35-45 lbs)

Due early December! Just in time to celebrate Christmas 🎄

This is going to be an extra special litter for us. It will likely be our last litter of F1 Goldendoodles, it's Kilo's first litter, and will be Zoeys retirement litter. We think these 2 are a perfect match and can't wait to meet the amazing puppies they produce. Zoey is incredibly laid back, full of love & kisses, and such a people pleaser. Kilo is incredibly smart, intuitive, calm, laid back, and such an independent boy. We anticipate this pair is going to make amazing puppies with great potential for service and therapy work!

This is Benny, he's not one of our pups, he belongs to some friends we meet through training. Benny looked just like a bigger version of Maple before he became a zebra. 😂 His mom is a talented hair stylist and apparently pretty good at making zebras too.

Benny is one happy boy and is rocking the zebra look! 🦓

Training builds an amazing bond and level of trust with your dog!

Last night Maple got her first opportunity to see a jump. She was so confident in herself and didn't have the least bit of fear. This is just the beginning for Maple, we are so proud of her and excited to continue working and watching her grow!

This is sweet Nala, previously Butterscotch, from Zoey' most recent litter. She moved near Asheville, NC with her new parents and big brother. We are so incredibly grateful that she is doing amazing and faired well through Hurricane Helene a few weeks ago. Her human mom says she is sweet, loving, and fitting into their family perfectly!

Sunday afternoon walks just might be our favorite! 🐕‍🦺 A little work on leash manners can make a world of difference in how much you'll enjoy your walks. Maple's favorite thing just might be a stick. She's a champ at finding the perfect stick and carrying it her entire walk. 😍

One of the most frequent questions we get on go-home day for our puppies is related to house training. For years we've used a combination of constant supervision using a leash to keep my puppy close, frequent trips outside, and crate training when we're unable to keep a constant eye on our puppy. This system works for young puppies and older dogs if your diligent and consistent. We start this process prior to go-home day with our puppies and try hard to share helpful training tips such as this with our puppies new families in hopes of making their transition to their new home as easy as possible.

Last week I came across an article by Martindale Animal Clinic which explains this so well and is spot on. I'll post the link to the article in the comments. If you're currently struggling with house training or thinking of adding a new puppy to your family this is a quick read that is definitely worth the time.

Our little gumball machine with her 2 gumballs! 😍

These 3 had the best time trick or treating together and the socialization for Maple and Kilo is something we couldn't reproduce! Tons of new people, sights, sounds, costumes, haunted trails, creepy jumping spiders...the list could go on and on.

These 2 took it all in stride. They are shining examples of why all the little socialization things we do starting at a very young age build up to big moments like this. This is what it's all about, the ability to enjoy so many things in life with their human family without fear or anxiety!

We love the relationship these 2 have developed! 🥰 She had no idea we were taking their picture so not posing and just being their authentic selves. She works with him on his obedience daily and they have developed a bond that truly can not be broken.

Our hope is the every puppy that comes through our home is able to develop a relationship just like this with their forever family! 💜

Long before hurricane helene existed God told us a few things about storms.

1. Storms change everything. Some for the better, some for worse. But storms bring change. You get to decide for better or worse. James 1:2-3
2. Storms bring perspective. What once seemed like a big deal, seems petty in light of the challenge ahead. Matt 6:23-34
3. Storms reveal priorities. What is really important to you surfaces. Food, water, family, liquor, self, etc. Matt 6:33
4. Every storms impact is not the same on every person. 1 Peter 1:6

Storms reveal character. For some, they rise to the generosity and grace of serving everyone. For others, the selfishness and thinking they have a right to take from others is revealed.
Storms produce endurance... Waiting on electricity.
Storms reveal the heart and how little we like to be Inconvienced.
Storms grow grit and build resilience.

But don't think for a minute storms aren't allowed by God for the sole reason of producing in people character that reflects him. Storms reveal whose you are and let's everyone else see.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, well at least we're trying! A bit hard to make lemonade with limited water but we'll make the best of the situation. Helene was not so nice to us, day 4 with no power, limited water due to the well pump not working without power, and limited cell and internet service. We are incredibly grateful for the resources we have and realize we are in a much better place than so many others. We are beyond grateful for the amazing neighbors, family, and friends who come together and help each other in times of need, from helping to cut trees off our fence, bringing us water, and sharing refrigerators and generators. We are beyond blessed and although maybe we're a bit uncomfortable we know that God will always provide! And as you can see, our dogs are enjoying every moment with tons of extra attention and love!

Please pray for our community as well as the entire Upstate of SC and Western NC as they face the coming days to clean and restore what Helene destroyed.

6 months versus 6 weeks! Sweet Mr. Kilo has got to be the best boy ever!

Today we started working on "sit to say please." To the average person this doesn't look like much but to us it's so exciting. This was Jellybeans first attempt and she caught on so quickly! "Sit to say please" is a simple concept, have the puppy sit to get what she wants, but is useful in so many ways. It's the beginning of the sit command, begins the process of learning that jumping is not beneficial, and teaches them that sitting with all 4 paws on the ground gets them good things. Over the next days and weeks we will work on getting better at "sit to say please" and will eventually add in the sit command. Over the past few months we've had a huge focus on training and this is a skill we've honed in on in our puppys curriculum. Socialization is all about exposing the puppies to new sights, sounds, people, and experiences, allowing them the opportunity to learn to respond to stress in a positive manner. The vacuum cleaner is often a super loud and scary object and something nearly every inside dog will experience in their lifetime. We gradually work our way up to the more "scary" things and today our sweet babies experienced the vacuum for the first time. I'd say they all did amazing. Puddin' just chose to sleep through it, and it didn't slow Cupcake and Cookie down much in their playing. We're so proud of these babies! They have great potential to be amazing family pets or to go on to do service work. Males and females still available with personal delivery options available. We're 5 weeks old and moved into a bigger "home" today. We have more defined eating, potty, sleep, and play areas and are loving our new and bigger space!
