I am looking to rehome this beautiful Weimaraner named Winston. He was one of our pups born at Royal Haven. Like all Weimaraners he is eager for and loves some direction in training. He is 8 years old. He is very responsive and quick to learn with good recall. He has been trained but will need to brush up on basics. Weims like scent work and agility exercises and could be trained for this. He walks well on a leash with a front clip harness. He is a little out of practice though.
He was originally house/crate trained, has all shots… neutered. I wouldn’t say he’s a cuddly dog but he does like attention and will nudge to be pet. Most weims attach well to humans and bond close. They are great companions and love to be with their owners. They need lots of exercise which is great for you getting in those long walks. Once you are confident in the training, they do best if you can get them to a park to run around and hunt. Having a good size parcel of land is a plus.
Winston will lay around and chill at times. So he’s not super hyperactive and will tell you when he is bored or hungry or needs to go out. Being 8, he is a bit more relaxed than in earlier years. Doesn't quite need as much exercise. He obeys Invisible Fence and is a good watch dog. He loves to swim, the minute anyone jumps in the water …he is right there in the water.
Winston will make a great companion for the right person. Homes with children, cats or small animals won't work out. He will be happier with an outdoor person and he will be your best friend.
