I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make a post about this or not, but realized: this business is more than just a business… it’s my passion, and it’s my life. And it seems only right to dig deeper and be transparent about personal matters with those who support what I do.
My grandfather was a man of few words, but a man full of spirit, smiles, and outstanding work ethic. To hear him ask about my clients, their pups, my small wins and successes, and how proud of me he was is the reason I have been able to continue building “Sharties”. And now that he’s gone, all I can do is thank him and continue to make him proud.
Three years ago he was diagnosed with a very rare form of lung cancer. Two years ago, I decided to move in with him and my grandmother to help with whatever they needed and to enjoy their presence for however long I’d be gifted with it. And up until the evening of Wednesday, December 4, he fought it with dignity, strength, and love for life and his family. He now rests peacefully and painlessly, and all that’s left for us to do is honor him by striving to live with his courage and compassion daily.
So for the remainder of December, I’ll most likely be pretty under the radar and quiet to help support family and to prepare for the beautiful future of this company. For all of my clients who have already booked with me, no worries—we are still on! But for now, no new clients or appointments will be scheduled until further notice.
And finally—thank you. To everyone who is following my journey, who has trusted me with their companions, who has shared my business with others, who has encouraged me, and everything in between. I see it all and appreciate each and every act of kindness, especially right now.
Happy Holidays to everyone, and thank you all for a stupendous first year in business. To many more! 🎉🪽
And thank you grandpa, for your love and constant encouragement. You are missed, and will forever be missed.
