Before and After Island Dog Obedience Training: Kona

Kona, a 1-year-old mini golden doodle, had a wishlist of behaviors:

Better focus and impulse control (stop trying to steal food or eat things off the ground)
Stop pulling on the leash
Stop jumping on people
Solid recall
Before training, Kona was full of energy and often acted on her impulses, making walks and mealtimes a challenge.

After Training:

I am so thankful to have found Island Dog Obedience and my amazing trainer, Raya! 🐾 My mom and I desperately needed our dogs to be properly trained because we couldn't leave them alone. Bella had severe separation anxiety and would bark for long periods.

From the very first day, Raya was incredibly accommodating and even came all the way to Kaimuki to train my dogs at home. This was incredibly convenient since I didn't have transportation at the time. Raya immediately identified the problem and taught me how to get Bella to stop barking. The e-collars she recommended are still helpful to this day!

Raya also helped expose my dogs to new places and people. They adjusted very well and were no longer barking excessively. It was a huge change to see them be so well-behaved and much calmer. They love Raya and are so much better at following commands, staying in their "spot," and using their crates.

Real transformations, real joy! 🌟 We reached out to Island Dog Obedience (IDO) to help train our Mini Aussie, Luka, who just turned one last week. Before IDO, Luka was very reactive and anxious, making walks and outings stressful. He would growl and bark at nearly everything.

It's been 2 weeks since Luka completed his 4-week board and train, and the results are amazing! He's still our happy, playful dog, but so much more well-behaved. Life with Luka has become more enjoyable. He follows all commands, is more comfortable in the water, and we can finally enjoy meals in peace. Walks and park visits with our children are now a joy—no more pulling on the leash or growling at strangers and dogs.

We are so proud of Luka and incredibly grateful to Maria, Chantelle, and all the staff at Island Dog Obedience for making this transformation possible.
