Dear farmish friend, you’re not failing. Your expectations are just based on Pinterest or some ridiculous AI photo.

If your farm/homestead/life doesn’t look like the “perfect” ones you see online, congratulations—because that means you’re probably actually *doing* it.

Real life is messy.

Real life is duct tape and piles of “stuff” and weird tan lines and mismatched chore gloves and chickens that snub you and won’t pose for pictures.

Don’t let someone else’s filtered feed make you question your own badass reality.

You’re farmish.
Not flawless.

Happy Monday to our valued customers!

We want to share some important thoughts about our farming practices and the significance of buying local. Although we don’t have the official organic certification, many of us—especially small farms—adhere to organic practices. The certification process can be costly and complex, but we pride ourselves on honesty and providing you with fresh, local produce without pesticides or added chemicals.

The importance of supporting local farms cannot be overstated. In 2024, we saw a significant loss of farms, and we face the risk of losing more. If this trend continues, it could lead to bigger issues, including increased costs from tariffs and dependency on imported goods.

We understand that buying local may cost a bit more, but we assure you that your support helps us continue to deliver high-quality, fresh products. Supporting local farms ensures that we can sustain our community and keep the supply of fresh produce flowing.

As the farmers market season approaches, we encourage you to shop local and help keep small farms thriving. Your support means the world to us, and together, we can make a positive impact on our community and environment.

Thank you for being part of our journey!

This is a great explanation of the amount of work and cost involved in raising baby chicks to supply everyone with these amazing eggs. It hasn't been easy, especially as the cost of everything continues to rise.

As it’s getting closer to baby chick time I’m going to break down chick cost for me.
I buy my chicks for $6 dollars with shipping now.
They get to me about 2 days old. 200 at a time
I buy electrolytes for them. $8 a 6 pack I feed this in their water for the first 2 days.
I buy 2 bags of chick starter for $22 a bag that last about 2 weeks as they do not eat much at this size.
I buy 40 bag of grower for $700 that will last them 4 months
I tend to go through about 15 bricks of sawdust for them for the 4 months. $3.50 wash
Total is 2004.50 for 16 weeks equaling $10.02 per chick. I have already purchased feeders and waters
Housing, heat is from our wood stove blower and haven’t figured out electricity yet but when I used heat lamps it would raise my bill by $10-20 a month. All things to consider when starting new. I did roundup on my prices just to make it easier, also your price of materials and grain will be different than mine.

🚨🚨🚨Good afternoon, followers and customers!🚨🚨

We want to take a moment to thank all of you who have been with us over the past five years. Each year, we strive to introduce something new at Corahillside Micro Farm, whether it’s new animals or fresh crops to enjoy.

This year, we are excited to announce the addition of a meat division! As many of you know, maintaining the quality of local products is more important than ever. We’re committed to providing you with high-quality, locally sourced food.

For the first half of the year, we’ll be keeping it simple (or as simple as it can be)! We will be offering meat birds, starting with whole chickens. In the future, we plan to offer individual package cuts as well.

Here’s what you can expect:
- A 10-week CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program, featuring a whole chicken every week for ten weeks.
- A 20-week CSA program, also featuring whole chickens.

🚨🚨🚨 if that does not work for you then pre-order your cuts. We will have chicken breast, chicken thighs, chicken wings, chicken hearts, chicken livers we will be posting prices very soon so stay tuned. 🚨🚨🚨
- As the season progresses, we’ll be introducing options like chicken wings, thighs, breasts, and even chicken hearts!

To give you a bit of background on our chickens: we will be raising Cornish Cross birds, which are widely used across the country for their excellent meat quality. You can expect your whole chickens to weigh between 4.75 to 5.5 pounds.

We’re thrilled about these new offerings, and as we move along, we hope to add piglets to our farm as well. Exciting times ahead!

We’ve already purchased our first 150 meat birds, and we can’t wait to share them with you. Stay tuned for more updates!

Thank you for your continued support!

and if you have any questions about anything, feel free, feel free to reach out to us
