Poinsettias are NOT the deadly flowers that popular legend has made them out to be.

This red beauty always makes a strong showing around the holidays. The sap of poinsettias can be irritating to the stomach leading to drooling 🤤, vomiting 🤮 and diarrhea 💩. Keeping this plant out of the reach of your pet to avoid stomach upset is still a good idea, but you need not banish the poinsettia from your home for fear of a fatal exposure.

This little guy was found along Mahana Stretch. No microchip, but he has a blue collar with a bell on it. Contact us or Animal Control (808-658-1272) if he’s yours. Very friendly and active (hard to get a picture). Definitely has a home!

It’s the holiday season folks 🎁 and everyone loves giving because of the amazing feeling you get! But please be mindful. If you are planning on getting a pet for someone, click on the picture below. There are so many loving dogs, cats, horses even, that are sitting in shelters needing homes that would make wonderful pets. Please consider who you are thinking of getting a pet for and their personality and lifestyle. It’s definitely doable and a wonderful idea. ❤️🐾

We’re so thankful for you Molokai! We are booked for our spay and neuter clinic! Good luck (and thank you) to everyone trapping cats the next couple of days!
We will not be doing any medication pick ups or vaccinations until next week. We apologize for the inconvenience- but it is all hands on deck doing surgery!

Our phone lines are down due to the rain. If you are scheduled for surgery today - we are still on! If you’re trying to reach us, phones and internet are down. We will also be in surgery, so our priority is for the animals on the table. We will respond to voicemails (if you can leave them) or emails ([email protected]) when we are able.

After almost 3 years we made it back to Kalaupapa to do some spay and neuter. Mahalo to the National Parks crew for hosting us, and for all the residents that made us welcome. A huge shout out to Dr’s Kelly, Kelsie, and Cheryl who volunteered their time to do surgeries and wellness checks. Mahalo also to Zoetis and Aloha Affordable Veterinary Services for all of the donated supplies. We hope to be back soon!
