This cute guy, Boots 🥾came to see us when he was having eye issues. After thorough examination, we stained the eye. When we stain the eye we look for evidence of any ulcers or scratches and he did not! Our veterinarian knew exactly what to do after, and we sent home eye medications to help begin healing. ❤️‍🩹
When we called to check on him today, his pet parent let us know he is feeling better.

JohnD came to see us when he began vomiting and became lethargic at home.
His mom brought him to us and we were able to give him an anti nausea injection and fluids to help support him while he isn’t feeling his best.

Flopsy came in when she went outside and came back in limping.
We performed radiographs which revealed her hip was out of place! We sedated her to ensure she was comfortable and relaxed to minimize stress and pain for her procedure. We were then able to manipulate the hip back in it’s desired socket. She was sent home with medications to help keep her comfortable. She will be on strict rest while her body heals. Millie came in when her eyes began bothering her.
We stained her eyes to ensure there was not a scratch or ulcer. We then chose an eye ointment to help with the irritation.

Gibbs is a handsome Golden Retriever who met us and we all became instant friends.
He was experiencing vomiting that later became blood tinged.
We performed radiographs to rule out an obstruction and then gave him an anti-nausea injection and supportive care to help him feel better.

The holiday season is always full of surprises and touching stories, but this particular one warmed the hearts of our team. This past Thanksgiving, Jenn, a Girl Scout Troop Leader and one of her Girl Scouts, Anita, entered our clinic with a feral cat. Anita had been caring for this furry friend, who had made her neighborhood its home for the past three years. One evening, she called Jenn desperately seeking help after she discovered that her furry friend had been attacked and was near death.

Jenn sprang into action, bringing Anita and Ember into UrgentVet Cary, NC. She was prepared to have the difficult conversation with Anita, explaining that the cat might not survive the attack. Thanks to the UrgentVet Cary team, Ember is almost fully recovered! Jenn reports that Anita has been doing an amazing job looking after him and his wound as he continues to recover at her house.

Anita was prepared to sacrifice all the money her mom had saved for her Christmas presents to save Ember’s life. While Jenn had the resources to help, and our team had the means to save Ember, we knew this story didn’t end there.

The team at UrgentVet Cary was so touched by Anita’s dedication this animal in-need, that they rewarded her with a $300 gift card. We hope she continues to nurture her love for animals, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things Anita will do in the future!

Buxley came to see us when his ear was bothering him a lot. We were able to get a sample from his ears and look at it under the microscope 🔬 and detected the type of bacteria 🦠 he had causing him discomfort. After, we cleaned his ears really well and applied an ear pack to help heal his ears.
Buxley is the mascot for Samford University and we were so happy to be able to help him! ❤️🐾

🍗 Watch the menu. Avoid sharing turkey bones, rich foods, or anything with onions, garlic, or spices.
🧺 Secure the trash. Curious noses can find harmful leftovers.

This adventurous kitty ran out of the house and came back with a fish hook stuck in his paw. His owner rushed him to UrgentVet, where we carefully removed the hook and made sure he was comfortable.

Oreo, a playful pup with a coat as black and white as his namesake cookie, was seen because he had a mild limp and was very itchy. His usual happy barks were replaced by whimpers, and his favorite game of fetch was sidelined by his relentless itch. Lucky for Oreo, He was seen UrgentVet (Hoover) by Dr. A and was prescribed medications to help get these issues under control. After his exam, he was happy to perform his best tricks for us, led by his favorite small human and treats of course!
