I wanted to take a spot up on your timeline tonight to brag on these two ladies. They’re spending the night in the clinic again tonight to avoid struggles with black ice in the morning so that there is no doubt that pets will be taken care of. They worked all day on Thursday and then slept in the exam rooms last night. They got up bright and early this morning and started taking care of your pets. Kristina took care of boarders, letting them have some snow time, feeding and playing with them. Anna assisted Dr. Arin with every one of your sick babies today and there were more of them than we anticipated so we were glad to be able to help! Tonight the 4 of us ate dinner together and Dr. Arin snapped this picture of them watching a movie together, decompressing from the day and getting ready to go back to their air mattresses to do it all again tomorrow.
When we have an opening on our team, I go through sometimes HUNDREDS of resumes for one opening. I sometimes interview 20+ people. You have to be able to do the job but it’s more than that. We look for the RIGHT people, with make it happen attitudes, strong work ethic, a cultural match, a huge heart, and someone who is just a fantastic human being. And then there are times when I get to sit back and say, “Dang, I did good!” This is one of those times.
We will have spent 55 straight hours in this building when we walk out tomorrow. I cannot tell you how proud I am to lead this team. Next time you’re here, do me a favor and thank one of them for the incredible job they do. Vet med is HARD, and they make it look so easy. They work so tirelessly to provide your pets the same care they provide their own. They’re my own personal superheros. I’m never not in awe of the work they do.
Signing off from my air mattress in the break room 😂
