Welcome our newest little family to William’s Home!! Mama Rita was living outside in Newark, being fed by a family, when they saw that she had given birth on their porch! They knew many of her babies didn’t survive last year, so they quickly reached out for help from a rescue, and we were happy to take them!!
Rita is a wonderful mom, and is SUPER friendly!! Her babies are all gaining weight, and today we saw the first hint of open eyes!!

Mason, one of the Piper colony cats, has come so far!!! Look how sweet he is now, and how much he loves pets. He even gives bellies!
Mason is about 8 months old, and is vetted and neutered. He is very scared of dogs, likely due to the unleashed dogs that used to be allowed to run in his neighborhood. We are slowly working on that, but for right now, we think his Forever Home will need to be dog-free. He LOVES other cats, so a cat friend would be no problem!!

Mama Estelle is teaching the babies how to eat real cat food!! Alice is so ready, she’s a big girl now!
All four babies are above 400 grams now (Willa was the last to hit that milestone, and Bert is already over 450!) They are just starting to play with each other, and are also running around now 💗💗
Mason is doing so well!!! We hit a big milestone today - making biscuits!! He’s really learning to love pets and head rubs.
Mason is going to make a great house cat!!! We aren’t sure how old he is, but based on when his feeder saw him as a kitten, we are guessing 6-8 months. Mason goes to TARA on Wednesday for his neuter, and then hopefully he’ll be ready for adoption soon!!!
Purring Riley 😻😻
Little Riley is one of the Piper Colony teenaged kittens, and he is coming along so well in his socialization!!! He also has some really cool coloring, with some spots mixed in with his tabby stripes!! Check out the little purr he’s got going in this video - he’s really starting to enjoy petting time ☺️☺️
Barnaby is such a sweet, silly, BIG guy!! I can’t believe he ended up outside alone on the street 😢 He loves being inside, and he’s learning about cuddles on the couch, sleeping in the bed, and... that it’s much more fun to drink someone else’s water 😂😂
Yes, he has his very own water bowl in the cat room - he has graduated to free roaming in the house, but the colony boys adore him so I try to bring him back there to hang out with them with me - AND a fancy water dispenser in the house, but he decided he had to have his brothers’ water 😂😂
Barnaby is actually already fixed and vetted, but we are holding off on officially opening him up for adoption applications while he helps us show his friends from the Piper colony that people aren’t so scary!! Hopefully he will be ready for his forever home soon!!
Mila have some crazy kitten playtime 😻😻
Mila is a tiny girl, but she is so brave!! She’s already loving life inside, and starts purring as soon as she sees you. It didn’t take her long to realize she loves people!!!
She will definitely need to go to a home with another kitten or friendly adult cat (hopefully her sister Maia!), since she loves to play and needs someone to keep her company. We are still looking for the perfect home for Piper!! He needs a home with 1) at least two loving, playful, PATIENT cats, since Piper is still learning cat social skills and 2) no kids, just because he is still very delicate with his leg, and is completely unaware of it 😂

We are still getting to know her, but I can tell you already that this gorgeous girl is super sweet, and is definitely a climber! She is having a great time here exploring and finding all the windows she can ❤️❤️
Mila will likely be available to go to her forever home around the end of February!! Like I said, we are still discovering more about her personality, but at this point we think she will most likely need to go home with another kitten or playful young adult cat, since she’s definitely got lots of kitten energy!!
Once she and her sister are done with their quarantines, we will get to see if they would be a good pair to go home together, but for now we want to be safe and make sure there aren’t any contagious illnesses lurking, so they will be staying separate for the next week or so.

Dinner time for Junie-bug 🖤🖤
We found out this week at the vet that Juniper was hiding something from us - she was actually another boy!!! It’s still taking me a while to get used to get used to saying “he” instead of “she”, because his personality is so much like my other girl cats!!
Junie is going to get neutered in a few weeks, and then will be ready for his forever home!! He is incredibly sweet, and loves cuddles! His favorite thing right now is to be swaddled in a blanket, held like a baby, and have his tummy rubbed 🖤🖤.
