We have been getting a lot of questions recently inquiring about the type of dryers we use and how we dry the dogs we groom. We use a HV (high volume) also known as a force dryer to hand dry the dogs. A force dryer works by using a high volume of air to force the water out of the coat using room temperature air that is slightly warmed as it passes through the motor. Some great benefits of this type of dryer is it will very gently blow the dead undercoat out of he dogs coat while providing a great massage and getting oxygen all the way down to the skin. Using this method also allows us to get a good look at the skin to find and remove ticks and often to identify skin problems that should be seen by a vet. He is a short video showing a lab getting his blow dry/massage treatment. You can see all of the dead hair flying out of his coat!
