Bittersweet day for our staff today. Our college students, Ana and Tally, have their last day with us before they start their freshman years 🥹 It’s been such a pleasure having them around! We can’t believe it’s been 30 years since we opened and began providing veterinary services to our community! Where has the time gone?! It’s been a wonderful 30 years with all of our patients, clients, and staff members. We are so grateful for everyone who has been there from the beginning, and for all of our new furry friends and their human families! Here’s to many more years together! ❤️🐾

Poppy and Dobby are “helping” with office work for the upcoming holiday week!

Our 2024 4th of July hours are as follows:

We will resume our regular business hours on Monday July 8th.

Please plan accordingly for all medication/ prescription diet refills and pickups- especially if they are noise sensitive related to fireworks. We have very limited availability next week as is, so plan accordingly for getting your pet(s) updated on any/all required vaccinations and/or dropping off f***l samples if you plan on boarding them over the holiday.

We are so pleased to announce that we have a new veterinarian starting in July! Please help us welcome Dr. Ryleigh Ammons to Monterey Veterinary Center! We are so excited and grateful to welcome her to our community and our team.

Dr. Ryleigh Ammons grew up in Dallas, Georgia and received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Berry College. While at Berry, she worked at the sheep unit and gained a love and appreciation of small ruminants. She obtained her DVM (Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine) at the University of Georgia in 2024 where she tracked in large animal medicine (food and fiber). While attending UGA, she worked as a research assistant for the department of parasitology.

Ryleigh loves all farm animals and has a particular fondness for sheep and goats. Her other special interests include reproductive medicine, production medicine, and parasitology. In her free time, Ryleigh loves to hike, read, watch movies, play card games, bake, and spend time with her partner, Mason, and dog, Gracie.

Dr. Ryleigh will be splitting her time between our office and our partner clinic Pickle Street Veterinary Services!

As the weather continues to heat up, remember: NEVER leave your pets in a parked car! Even with cracked windows, temperatures can soar to deadly levels within minutes. Your furry friends can suffer from heatstroke, brain damage, or worse.

👉 Facts to remember:

• On a 75°F day, a car's temperature can reach 100°F in just 10 minutes.
• On a 90°F day, it can hit 160°F in less than 10 minutes.

🐾 What to do:

• Leave pets at home if you can't take them with you.
• If you see a pet in distress in a hot car, call local authorities immediately.
• Spread the word to friends and family – let's keep our pets safe!
• Stay vigilant, stay cool, and keep your pets cool too!

Congratulations to our partners at Pickle Street for 10 years of excellent service! We look forward to many more years of partnership!

Ten years ago today, we opened our metaphorical doors and started to serve patients in the Allegan County area. When I first started the practice out of my house I had no idea how it would develop. Today, I am joined on the road by the talented Drs. Roxanne and Maggie and helping us are four awesome assistants/receptionists Rylee, Bri, Holly and Olivia. We recently formed a partnership with Monterey Veterinary Center and we are excited to see how that develops over time.

I am grateful for my family, staff and our clients for all of your support over these past years. We have grown a lot together caring for our important patients and can't wait to see where the next ten years takes us. With sincere appreciation, THANK YOU!

We’d like to wish our patients and clients a happy upcoming Memorial Day weekend! Our team is excited for the extended weekend to spend time with family and friends!

We will be closed Saturday, May 25th through Monday, May 27th. We will resume our regular business hours on Tuesday, May 28th.

We wouldn’t be anywhere without our wonderful reception ladies! We’re grateful to have them here as an integral part of our team to help make our clinic function; and to love on our patients as much as we do! We’d never be able to do our jobs without them being a part of it!

‼️Attention Clients‼️

We will be closing early tomorrow, Friday March 8th. Instead of our normal time of 6pm we will be closing at 2pm.

Please plan accordingly for medication and food pick ups, and any sample drop-offs. We will resume our normal hours of 8-12 on Saturday.

If you have an emergency during our time of closure, we highly recommend Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Byron Center/ Grand Rapids or EVCC in Holland.

We appreciate you being understanding with the early closure! We hope you and your family have a great weekend and enjoy the spring-like weather!

Starting this week, we will be switching over to an automated reminder system that will allow us to confirm appointments via email and text! As we switch over, we will need updated contact information from our clients.

If we haven’t reached out to you already to confirm your contact information, or if you have questions regarding the switch over, please call our office at (269) 793-7733 to confirm your contact information to help our transition go smoothly.

If we already have confirmed your contact information, you’ll be receiving an email in the next day or so to download an app called PetPage (image below) that you can use to communicate with us digitally. Clients can request medication refills, see upcoming appointments, see your pet’s vaccination reminders if they’re in need of anything, and set yourself reminders for preventive medicine applications! For the app or the AllyDVM Patient Portal website you will need an email on file with us in order to participate. If you do not wish to use the app or website we will still need your cell phone number and your home address to send out confirmation texts and reminder post cards.

We will be closing early tomorrow, Friday January 12th, due to inclement weather conditions. The office will be closing at noon in order for our staff members to make it home safely prior to the storm.

Please have all medication and prescription diets picked up before 11:45a. If you have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow and you do not wish to drive in the snow, please call our office at (269) 793-7733 and cancel/ reschedule your appointment. We will be closed Saturday January 13th as well, so please plan accordingly.

Congratulations to Dr. Henry Reinart- he is now the 100% owner of Monterey Veterinary Center! Dr. Heather Ludlam is thrilled that the business she started 30 years ago will continue to operate as an important part of our community. Dr. Ludlam is also thrilled to continue to work part-time doing what she loves- practicing veterinary medicine!

We are so excited to be able to offer this completely new treatment for osteoarthritis pain relief and mobility improvement in dogs (and cats!) This monthly injection will hopefully take the place of oral medications and work even better. Please give us a call at the clinic for more information about Librela and Solensia, and to schedule osteoarthritis evaluation and treatment for your pet.
