It’s going to be a warm week! 🥵☀️🔥
Please be sure you and your pets follow appropriate precautions to prevent heat-related injuries and illnesses!
🌞🔥 HEAT WARNING THIS WEEK! 🔥🌞
🐾 The Four Legged Ranch wants to remind everyone to help keep ALL pets safe during this extreme heat! Whether they have fur, feathers, or scales, every animal is at risk when temperatures soar.
💧 Heat Safety Tips:
🐶 Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water.
🏡 Keep pets indoors whenever possible or provide shaded, well-ventilated areas.
🌅 Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are cooler.
🐾 Check the pavement with the back of your hand for 7 seconds—if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for their paws.
🚗 Never leave a pet in a parked vehicle. Even with the windows cracked, temperatures can become deadly within minutes.
⚠️ Watch for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, vomiting, weakness, bright red gums, confusion, or collapse.
If you notice these signs, seek veterinary care immediately.
🐰 Don't forget about rabbits, birds, reptiles, livestock, and other small animals—they also need extra shade, cool water, and airflow during hot weather.
❤️ This is also a great time to check on elderly neighbors, outdoor pets, and community animals. A bowl of fresh water or a little extra kindness can truly save a life.
