He wanted a close working gun dog for himself, and so his initial interest was with the Vizsla breed. Just Howard's hunting skills were such that he not only impressed Carl, but his friends as well, and soon everyone wanted a Vizsla of their own. In order to meet the desire for well-bred hunting companions for Carl and his friends; Carl purchased a bitch, Just Michigan Midge, out of Minnesota, to

breed with Just Howard. Due to his success with that initial breeding word spread, and in order to meet the demand for these exceptional dogs so did his breeding program. Over the years he has acquired many wonderful dogs—like Just Kavie Red Flannel, out of Oklahoma—to grow the pedigree, and often include selective breeding with other reputable Vizsla breeders to improve the line as well. Carl expanded his line to include CH and JH titles in the conformation ring and Hunt Test venues. Just Audrey, JH

Carl breeds Vizslas as both hunting companions and family pets. His dogs enjoy long and healthy lives—Just Howard passed away in December of 2005, two days after his 15th birthday. Another of his boys, Sneaky Pete, retired from hunting November 2012 at the ripe old age of sixteen-and-a-half—He still desires to go! Carl is an active contributor to the Vizsla community and a member in good standing with: The Vizsla Club of America and The Michigan Vizsla Club.
